I guess that’s why I was hesitant to listen to a national show with him; I like him on local issues, and there are always a million things going on in Cincinatti and Ohio/Kentucky to keep him from getting stuck on one thing too long. On the rare occassion something did stick around long enough to get old, there was always some sports news going on to keep the show moving.
However, if it had been an ongoing theme on his show, McCain could have saved himself a headache from both ends by having on of his handlers listen to Billy’s show ....someone somewhere had to know that the Hussein name got dropped a lot on the show. If they didn’t McCain needs to organize his campaign better or vet his opening acts better (from his perspective - I like Billy Cunningham) But I can say this from the comfort of my computer chair, and not the political hot seat trying to please all people at all times ;)
John McCain: Sucking the energy out of the GOP base faster than John Kerry could with his!@
Funny thing is, McLame made it MORE of an issue by berating Billy C. If he would’ve just shut his mouth, it wouldn’t have gotten much mileage, IMO.
I think this is it. All they knew is he was a conservative talk radio host and had no idea he's as wild and intense as Savage but in a different way. Back in the day the only talk radio you could get here in Indy was WLW out of Cincy (the "Big One") and I always liked Billy - he's definately never boring.
McCain COULD have just been a bit more noncommittal, maybe shrugging, maybe saying HE wouldn’t do such a thing but after all, HUSSEIN IS Barack’s middle name.
but McCain, what a guy! HE’s got to get all noble and lambaste a radio talk show host not that he’s not already in hot water with these very influential fellows.
McCain, he sure can rally and whip up that base,eh?
re: Mc/Bill
He didn’t know what was said on the stage when he made the statement, much less listening to Cunningham’s show.
