Actually the original AWB was instigated by a SINGLE incident that gave rise to the very term assault rifle. That was the schoolyard massacre in Stockton, CA. I think it was Cali, anyway. That was the one that started the craze for the crazies.
I feel bad for this incident, I used to go up there quite a bit this time of year: My former accountant had his office in that area, until he retired a few years ago. I always went armed in the area. But heck, except for work, I always go armed everywhere. I hope the shooter was stopped by the off duty cop. I am so glad I stopped eating fast food on doctors orders years ago. That stuff will kill ya.

thank you for the update
I left S. Miami in 1984. Even then we were about a year late as far as home sales go.My BP dropped 10 points, seriously.
Moved to Raleigh NC area. I took a trip back to Miami about 6 months after leaving. I couldn’t believe I ever lived there. And I was born and raised in Miami.
You couldn’t pay me enough to move back.
I do miss sailing in the Keys sometimes though.
Just speculating. Tempers are rising across the nation as disposable wealth dries up for the poor and especially middle class. The potential variables of combinations of violent events due to flared tempers during economic crisis are endless.
3 or 2 more years. But, his approval rtg is 70 per cent. It’s liberal approval ratings by Fla media polls!
Somebody been shaking the twin's again?
No doubt about that. Many people are very tightly wound some are nothing more than walking time bombs Expect more of the same.
A paragraph in the AP story linked by Drudge.
believe it or not, things are getting better crimewise in your country - not quite the 50s but the trend is getting there:

We think our crime is terrible, but for comparison:

Yes all very true. What has gone up is coverage of crime, making it seem like there is more crime than there really is, and explosive cases like these get all the attention.
The reason coverage has gone up is because the MSM thinks people secertly enjoy listening/watching such stories, or so I’ve heard.
You mean when the nuts had 3 hots and a cot in the institutions where they belonged
Yeah, but what’s creepy nowadays, is many of these human time bombs going off, have no criminal history, or just minor stuff with no violence involved.
Yep, it is a village within greater Palm Beach
Yes, we did get to live them, so we know the difference. Nobody ever shot anyone at school, didn’t even shoot up in school. Drinking was the big vice and if a girl got pregnant, she wasn’t given baby showers. She silently either went away for a few months or stayed at home. I remember a girl next door to me (she was staying there) who got pregnant and moved out of her home to the place next door, and had her schoolwork brought there daily. Rarely did they raise the child but gave it up for adoption. You could take your kids to see a movie without wondering about the violence, the language, or much of anything else. It was just a good and wholesome movie. I DO long for those good old days.
I just got home and am just seeing this. We live in Delray. Whereabouts in WPB was this?
