A man was arrested in Los Angeles after making a threat on George Bush's life last week during a phone call to an ex-girlfriend, who alerted the police.
A bail hearing was scheduled today for Charles Madrid, a 50-year-old radio technician who allegedly threatened the US president's life.
"Committing this murder is not a murder, it's making a difference for the people," court papers say the former girlfriend, Wanda O'Hickey-Way, quoted Madrid as saying. "I'm going to kill who needs to be killed."
According to an affidavit, LAPD officers arrived at his home last Tuesday, and one asked Madrid, "Do you want to kill the president?"
"Yes," Madrid replied.
Madrid lives with his mother, Rachel Madrid-Hall. She conceded Madrid has a temper, but said: "He's not a maniac. I think he was speaking out of frustration."

mine was a heavy drippin of sarcasm
That’s a possible scenario, but not as likely as the guy is just a deadbeat who has never earned his own way and expects his mother to continue to cook, clean, and do his laundry for him.
After all, he’s obviously a lib.
Bump.
sound engineer translates in this case to part-time roadie.
Nope, it means he sits in the basement on his ham Radio all day and night.
Hey, I know her...
Works for Air America?
I wonder what his screen name is on DU
Well, it was ‘Hickey-Lickey’.
This is a guy who's listened to too many Obama speeches.
Exactly. My husband lived at home until he married me at age 51. He’s the best husband one could ever find. He was a recluse until Jesus grabbed ahold of him. What a change. He was wonderful to his mom and wonderful to ME. When I saw how lovingly he treated her, I knew he’d do the same for me. And he certainly has.
ALL of us have issues, not just men or women who live at home.
Issues? Not necessarily? I have a male cousin who divorced and in his 50s who lived with his mom to help take direct care of her when she became infirm. He made sacrifices that his brother and sisters would not make to ensure that his mom was taken care of and secure.
he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis two years ago, his job at a radio station was cut back to part-time and his bicycle - his only means of transportation - recently was stolen off the front porch.
Bush's fault.
Oh, man, NOW you’re cookin’ with gas!
FWIW, though, this Conservative I wouldn’t “date” her, either; if I had a shot I’d be playing for KEEPS!
And, BTW, there are a few things in life that really test my resolve in my stance against human cloning. She’s one of them.
If you use the wine to wash down a couple of ibuprofen, then, yes.
[/industrial-strength punnage]
Is that her name or her address?
A pun worthy of the prodrome!
Hey, the other night I had Chilean sea bass with french fries and pinot noir.
Rules are made to be broken. ;)
Hicky-Way at the huki-lau?
Lovely. Who is she?
Why, thank you!
