The University of California at Berkeley is working on a partnership deal with Saudi Arabiaâs King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Under the arrangement, which the Times says could be made final as early as Tuesday, Berkeley faculty members would collaborate on research and help the Saudi university hire professors.

"According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Cal Poly would receive $5.9-million over five years to create an engineering curriculum, build laboratories, and train teachers, but only men would qualify to take or teach engineering classes at the school."

The name Berkeley is becoming synonymous with Taliban, al Qaida and Hamas. Saudi Arabia is an enemy nation.

That’s because Berkeley is so “progressive”.

This is excellent! It's about time that liberal world woke up to the reality awaiting them, should they succeed in their effort to destroy America. Let 'em have a taste of some old school Sharia law and see if they still want to block that Marine recruiting station. Berkeley, pfff.

Remember that Lawrence Summers guy who was canned as Harvard University President?
Do you think his detractors will make any noise about this?

This is plain and simple discrimination. I wonder if UC Busby Berkley will lose its federal millions over this???

From a couple years ago:
More than 10,000 Saudi students will travel to the US to attend university as part of a government-sponsored program following the adoption of new measures by the Ministry of Higher Education aimed at facilitating travel procedures for Saudis. In total, 21,000 Saudis are expected to take part in the program in the next four years.

After applying to the exchange program and benefiting from relaxed visa procedures, Bandar is now back in the US studying at his own expense.

Thats because Berkeley is so progressive. Cal Poly ain't. (OTOH back in the day, I dated half the women studying in the EE dept. Phylis was her name)...

The collaboration should be banned by state law unless the Saudi employment opportunities are blind to race, religion and gender.
One way to get the ball rolling is to require the Saudis to send some Jewish, female and Freeper :) exchange profs of their own.

As long as they have a stoning research Lab, shouldn’t be a problem.

It’s Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Thanks, The CoCo times link worked:
"Faculty concerns have slowed similar proposals between other U.S. and Saudi schools. At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, engineering professors are opposing an agreement to develop a men-only engineering school at Saudi Arabia's Jubail University College."
It's nice to know the other Cal Poly manned up.

I’m thinking that the Marice Recruiting station is actually an Advanced Forward Observation Post. Hopefully the Marines will conduct an assault on the Politburo of that cesspool of Maoists.
