Agreed. Because she looks somewhat like Hillary, she’s automatically a turn-off to most but, in reality, she looks like your average 20-something girl-next-door. I wouldn’t say she’s hot or not hot - she’s somewhere in between.

I cannot imagine why Chelsea Clinton, or any other sane person, would want to run for office in this day and age."I witnessed the fearful agonies and throes of that Good and Great Man Lincoln, and saw the General Grant who never swerved in War, bend & twist and writhe under the appeals, and intrigues from which there was no escape, so that I look upon the office as beyond human endurance--each year becoming worse and worse."

I don't think she looks like Hillary, but I agree with your comment in general. No one can help the looks they get from the gene pool. I think Chelsea has done as best as she can and is no slob, but no beauty either. So what's the big deal about her appearance.
Maybe in political campaigns of the future we should put bags over every candidate's head. Then we could can get back to selecting leaders on the basis of their qualifications and capabilities alone, and HOW THEY BEHAVE.
That said, neither Hillary or Obama are qualified to govern this country - no matter what they look like, how they are built, how big their ears are or, or how many wrinkles they have. Their looks are far less important than what they have done and could do to ruin this country. That should be the focus, not the pants-suits, or the big-toothed grins. Most of the world's leaders of today and in the past certainly were no super model types, and many were far from good-looking at all.
