Next Clinton in the White House may be Chelsea

By Tony Allen-Mills

March 03, 2008 04:30am Article from: The Australian

CHELSEA Clinton, once a gawky teenager, pictured between her parents and holding their hands as if to keep them together while having them a safe distance apart, has emerged as the family hope for dynastic succession – as Hillary's campaign falters.

The 28-year-old has blossomed on Hillary's campaign, drawing admiring reviews from bloggers and senior Democrats ... and, of course, her parents.

At campaign meetings on university campuses across the country, student audiences have been gasping at the confident, articulate, personable spokeswoman who has been singing her mother's praises in more than 20 states.

"Yeah," wrote a student blogger in South Carolina after Chelsea appeared at his college. "Intelligent, nice voice, sexy. She's really blossomed into a hot woman."

In a presidential campaign filled with surprises, Chelsea Clinton has sprung one of the most intriguing. She has emerged from the shadow of her famous parents to carve out her own political identity as both a devoted and persuasive surrogate for her mother - and, just maybe, as a dynasty's next best hope.

Is America about to discover that a younger, prettier but potentially just as formidable Clinton is ready to pick up the baton?

She turned 28 last week and won't be eligible to run for the White House until she's 35.

Chelsea Clinton is just a plain-looking woman of ordinary talents who happens to have very famous parents.

The likelihood of Miss Clinton being elected President of the USA is considerably smaller than JFK Jr.'s chances while he was still alive.

By the age of 28 her mother was a partner at a locally influential law firm and her father was organizing a successful campaign for Attorney General of Arkansas.

Miss Clinton has, apparently deliberately, eschewed any high-profile career undertakings.

My worst nightmare: Clinton elected president, president appoints Clinton as UN Ambassador, several years later, UN elects Clinton as president of the UN due to his ties to the White House.......daughter Clinton ultimately elected as US Senator from NY..........

Anybody think that B HO was actually thinking about running for president back in 2005? Not me! It wasn't until sometime in 2006 that the MSM started touting the junior Senator from Illinois as a fresh young voice destined for great things. They were the ones that planted the seed of presidency in his head and they were the ones that continued to water and fertilize it.......Had they ignored him just like all the other junior senators, he would still be just a junior senator instead of a democratic presidential wannabe.....

Unfortunately name recognition is very important to many voters. The reason McCain surged ahead was partly because his name has been around the longest.

Everyone has their own ideas of hot vs not. I do find comments about her looks an interesting commentary on American priorities as there are some pretty homely and definitely ugly men in politics and their looks have never been an issue. Many of our past presidents have been not been unattractive men in the looks department and yet they were brilliant men. Look at Lincoln. No wonder Americans are considered shallow these days.

Her parents foibles aside, I think they have raised a charming, intelligent, lovely young woman. It can not be easy to spend the most awkward years growing up in the public eye, surrounded by SS. Until now she has maintained a low profile, has not succumbed to turning into a **celebrity!** isn’t in and out of rehab, doesn’t make a public spectacle of herself, dress like a hootchie mama, stagger in and out of bars. So she’s campaigning for her mother - it’s her MOM and Chelsea’s an adult. It’s not like dragging a 7 year old out on the trail. If she wants to run in another 10 years...cross that bridge when we come to it. People can write columns about anything.

I will never understand all the ungentlemanly and rude comments about a young lady’s looks, especially when that person has done nothing to them. I’m sure all these Orlando Blooms, George Clooneys and Sean Connerys will post their pics for us.

Why does a woman have to have a man at her heels? What does being married have to do with being hot? Perhaps it’s not because of her looks that she is still single but because she hasn’t met the right person or doesn’t feel the need to have a husband yet. Or ever.

“Chelsea isn’t a bad looking gal”

....I suggest you lay off the sauce for a couple of weeks until your better judgment comes back. The girls is not fugly but my God man...get a grip.

And just how many drinks had this student blogger had before writing this BS?

The Bush twins don’t seem to have that problem. Being an Old Maid doesn’t translate into “hot”. If she is so “hot” where are all the men?

Oh yeah, Femihags are “hot” to their careers.

Pray for W and Our Troops

I cannot imagine why Chelsea Clinton, or any other sane person, would want to run for office in this day and age.

"not bad looking" and "not fugly" are a few degrees of separation.

Gee, It's not like I said she was a Victoria Secret Model

Dear Sub-Driver, please send the $3,600 check for my NEW computer to me here in Audubon, PA. My old computer failed to boot after my truckload of explosive vomitus submerged it upon reading your headline. I hold no animus as I understand you were only the messenger of this putrafactive debris, but you will still have to pay!

That student blogger needs new glasses. That 'young woman' is Coyote Ugly, and she's a drunkard -- aka: A Typical Democrat Female.

I never said she was ‘hot’, I said that being hot doesn’t mean you have to be married. And maybe being single isn’t a problem for her. Maybe she feels being single at 28 (’Old Maid???? is this 1800???) and being happy with her life is more important than being married to a man who wants to run around on her. As far as where the men are, who knows? Who cares? Perhaps she keeps her private life quiet. Or perhaps they’re all shallow enough that they’re out there chasing the half dressed Paris Hiltons and Britneys of the world.

The Bush twins, one is engaged, one is single. Neither are married yet.

" ... Chelsea looks like the south end of a pig going north."

Not only that, but at 28 she's 4 years passed the expiration date.
