(Skeptical) Global Warming Site Shutdown by Hackers (AGW Denial-of-Service Attack)
CO2 Science ^ | Mar 01 2008 | Robert A Cook

Posted on 03/01/2008 9:53:55 AM PST by Robert A Cook PE

CO2 Science is an excellent reference source for hundreds of global warming and CO2 research studies debunking the media's AGW hysterical outbursts. They clearly show their 25% increase in plant production due to today's higher CO2 levels, the high temperatures common across the world during the Chinese, Roman, and Medieval Warm Period, plus the cold intervals of the Dark Age of 450-700 AD, Little Ice in 1600 AD.

Well, it looks like CO2 Science paid the price for opposing today's international socialist agenda to ruin America's economy: Their web site was shutdown by a denial-of-service attack, and they are only slowly recovering. Any support you can provide will hlp, but until everythinig recovers, only this month's information can be reviewed.

Volume 11 Number 8: 20 February 2008 New issue posted every Wednesday

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Down, but not Out! A week ago we experienced a terrorist-like Denial of Service Attack on our website that rendered it inaccessible to patrons. Unfortunately, the company that managed our website was unable to stop the attack, and we had to make the decision to host our website elsewhere. Moving our website to another server is not a simple task and must take place in stages. For now, only the current weekly issue of CO2 Science will be accessible, followed by a gradual return to full website access and functionality in the coming days and weeks.

For those of you awaiting the release of our DVD Carbon Dioxide and the Climate Crisis, which was advertised on our website shortly before the attack began, that wait will continue for an undetermined amount of time. We apologize for the inconveniences caused by the website attack and our subsequent server move. We hope you will continue to support our efforts and visit us often.

Editorial

Global Warming Begets Species-Saving Rapid Evolutionary Changes in Many Plants and Animals: The title says it all ... and a lot of scientific references back it up.

Medieval Warm Period Record of the Week

This issue's Medieval Warm Period Record of the Week comes from Pigmy Basin, Northern Gulf of Mexico. To access the entire Medieval Warm Period Project's database, click here.

Subject Index Summary

Rainfall (Trends - Regional: Europe, Northern) : Do real-world data from Northern Europe provide any support for climate-alarmist claims of impending precipitation changes outside the bounds of normal variability?

Plant Growth Data This week we add new results (blue background) of plant growth responses to atmospheric CO2 enrichment obtained from experiments described in the peer-reviewed scientific literature for: Garden Tomato, Marine Dinoflagellate, Marine Raphidophyte, and Rice.

Journal Reviews Northern Patagonian Icefield Glaciers: What do we learn from the nature of their post-Little Ice Age retreat?

Decadal Temperature Variations at Lake Qinghai on the Tibetan Plateau: What do they imply about 20th-century global warming?

Dissolved Organic Carbon in Northern European and North American Surface Waters: How did its concentration change between 1990 and 2004? And, of perhaps even greater significance, why?

Carbon Sequestration in Semi-Arid Grasslands: How will it likely be influenced by the ongoing rise in the air's CO2 content?

Heavy-Metal (Copper) Contamination of Rice: How is it impacted by atmospheric CO2 enrichment?

Temperature Record of the Week This issue's Temperature Record of the Week is from Lincoln, VA. During the period of most significant greenhouse gas buildup over the past century, i.e., 1930 and onward, Lincoln's mean annual temperature has cooled by 2.58 degrees Fahrenheit. Not much global warming here!

Conference Announcement 2008 International Conference on Climate Change: An international conference on climate change will take place on March 2-4, 2008 in New York City, calling attention to widespread dissent to the alleged “consensus” that modern warming is primarily man-made and is a crisis. Read more about the conference by clicking on the link above.

Greenhouse Gas Reporting Since 2001, our organization has provided companies with professional assistance in filing greenhouse gas (GHG) reports with the U.S. Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Program (Section 1605(b) of the Energy Policy Act of 1992). We hope that others of you will also turn to our Center for your GHG reporting needs. Together, we can help you prepare an accurate, complete, consistent, relevant and transparent accounting of your emission and sequestration activities.

CO2 SCIENCE had to be silenced. They are interfering with Al Gore’s right to earn a modest living:

NEWSWEEK: AL GORE NOW WORTH MORE THAN $100 MILLION

[Since 2000, according to published reports, the former veep has transformed himself from a public servant with around $1 million in the bank to a sparkling private consultant with a net worth estimated to be north of $100 million. He’s a senior adviser to Google, a board member at Apple and now a newly minted general partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the Silicon Valley venture-capital firm that made billions investing early in Netscape, Amazon and Google. . .If Gore’s profit-sharing deal is anything like the firm’s other 23 partners, he’s also in line to collect tens of millions of dollars a year. That’s because partners carve up 30 percent of the profits if and when the alternative-energy start-ups that KP supports go public or are sold. . .]

Oh, please!

We’ve suffered through five such attacks in the last four months, and our computer is just a home-based computer with no internet site based on it.

These guys are Chinese. The first one was the key to the others. My nephew had devised a very strong firewall that held this group of crackers at bay for weeks until the firewall’s defense mechanism kicked in and fried the attackers hard drive. Two days later we received a message in Chinese - none of us understood any of it, but since then our computer has been atacked monthly. So far we haven’t had to replace any hardware but time will tell.

One thing all insecure religious movments have in common when they go into decline is increasing intolerance and violence. This is going to get much, much worse as people are forced to give up their false belief and admit the truth.

As pathetic as it is, people have been looking to the AGW movement to give meaning to their pathetic, empty lives. They are not going to want to admit that they have been wasting their time on a hoax for the past few years.

This applies also to "scientific" movements that rely upon faith to make up for the lack of evidence. True science has nothing to fear from heretics. If a movement forms claiming the Earth is flat, scientists can respond with experiments that prove its shape. The only "scientists" with anything to fear from heretics are those who don't have any good way to prove the heretics wrong. If the heretics can't be proven wrong, what basis is there--aside from one's ability to out-shout them--is there for believing that they are?

Believe it or not, my 13-year old nephew came up with it.

After the Chinese cracked through McAfee and his firewall, they planted a polymorphic virus and he had to format the hard drive and reload everything. Unfortunately he’d forgotten how he had made the “anti-hacker fire-bomb” in the first place.
