AUSTIN The Texas Democratic Party warned Thursday that election night caucuses scheduled for Tuesday could be delayed or disrupted after aides to Hillary Rodham Clinton threatened to sue over the party's complicated delegate selection process.
In a letter sent out late Thursday to both the Clinton and Barack Obama campaigns, Texas Democratic Party lawyer Chad Dunn warned a lawsuit could ruin the Democrats' effort to re-energize voters just as they are turning out in record numbers.
Spokesmen for both campaigns said there were no plans to sue ahead of the March 4 election.
"It has been brought to my attention that one or both of your campaigns may already be planning or intending to pursue litigation against the Texas Democratic Party," Dunn wrote in the letter, obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Such action could prove to be a tragedy for a reinvigorated Democratic process."
Democratic sources said both campaigns have made it clear that they might consider legal options over the complicated delegate selection process, which includes both a popular vote and evening caucuses. But the sources made it clear that the Clinton campaign in particular had warned of an impending lawsuit.

A warm up for challenges in FL and MI?
This was posted earlier today also. According to what other people said, the Clinton campaign was involved in writing the rules for the election/caucus process in Texas. So.........if they were involved in writing the rules, how in good conscience can they sue or threaten to sue about it?
Reminds me of the Florida and Michigan delegates not being allowed in the Dem. convention because they had primaries before Feb. 5th. The Clinton campaign and all Democrats agreed that these were the rules. Hillary was the only major candidate with a name on the ballot in Michigan. After the fact, the Clintons want those delegates counted.
My local store has run out of popcorn,I’ll go to WalMart to restock before Tuesday.
Oh lookie, another ‘dog bites man’ headline.
Of course they will. 2000 was just an exercise in preparing for this with Algore & the libs taking this to the Courts.
Listen, Pubbies. We hang together or we WILL be hanging separately. Just bite the bullet, hold your nose...whatever.
Vote party. Vote early and vote often. And vote OUT any liberals in office in your own state the MINUTE you have a chance. ;)
Easy! It's only "fair" as long as "Her Thighness" is winning. It is inconceivable that she should lose, so therefore, the system must be unfair and the lawsuits must begin.
You just have to put on your Clymer Goggles to view the world as a liberal and then it will all make sense to you.
Bad move unless you are desperate. Just listening in my little area...they are turning on her. They don’t like Obama but they want her out of the race even if it means their “Bill” doesn’t get back to the WH. Texans are funny about outsiders getting into their business.
Geez, you would swear from hearing this type of news that elections are never decided until the lawyers and courts have weighed in.
Inside the twisted mind of Bill and Hillary Criminal.
Run Hillaryous Run!
Change the rules in the middle of the game. Wonder how the Dems will accomplish this same thing in November?
She’s melting...Somebody call the Whambulance!!!
The previous clinton had no problems with it.
And don’t forget the casino workers being able to caucus at work in Nevada. The Clintons were all for it when they thought the casino workers union was going to endorse Hillary. When they endorsed Obama instead, Hillary screamed that it was unfair.

Great way to gain friends there, Hillary...
I do b’leive she’ll sue the voters for not electing her.
