Great implications if they can make it work. Another medical innovation out of the United States.

Wonderful news if ... BIG if ... it transfers over to humans.
Lots of stuff works on mice that doesn't work on humans. Including more than a couple "cures" for Type 1 diabetes.

I know many people who have cured their diabetes with diet and exercise, not “magic bullets” from the local pharmacy. Imagine that.

Normally, that would be type II due to overweight, lack of exercise, and poor eating habits.
Normally, type I diabetes, due to disease of the pancreas, cannot be controlled or “cured” in that way.

Does PETA approve of curing mice of their diabetes?

Thanks for that.
As a Type 1, I would have been much more brutal in my response.

Type I diabetes is an auto immune disease that destroys the cells that produce insulin.
Type II diabetes is usually an condition of excess calories and resistence to the insulin the body continues to make, completely different diseases.

Not type 1. I’m a fitness trainer (to be...few more months!). You don’t cure type 1 diabetes with diet and exercise.
