PRINCE HARRY FIGHTS ON FRONTLINES IN AFGHANISTAN; 3 MONTH TOUR Thu Feb 28 2008 11:01:34 ET
**World Exclusive**
They're calling him "Harry the Hero!"
British Royal Prince Harry has been fighting in Afghanistan since late December -- and has been directly involved in gun battle, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
The prince, a junior officer in the Blues and Royals, and third in line to the throne, has been a "magnificent soldier" and an "inspiration to all of Briton."

Well, sorry but, you’re helping him spread it.

In times past, royals wore conspicuous garb on the battlefield. Henry V wore a crown and the royal coat of arms over his armor at Agincourt. A group of French knights charged him furiously. They were all cut down but one them struck Henry’s crown with his sword. But I guess we got to be sensible now.

Prince Harry has been serving on the front line in Afghanistan with the British Army, the Ministry of Defense said Thursday. Officials said the prince, a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment, was still deployed in the country. Why do you attack Drudge!? The Brit Army officials themselves made this public. Sheesh!

I agree. Everyone thinks he will be shipped back home now. Why no let him fight. I have great respect for him. He wanted to be with his boys and he is. At least he’s not someone crying about having to go.

I lost all respect for drudge a long time ago. Now lets see if he gets Harry (or other soldiers) killed.

Three month tour? What am I missing here? Was he sent to Afghanistan three months ago on a three month tour? Actually, a three month tour sounds about right for a prince.

"
Bravo, Matt Drudge. Scooped the entire UK media!"
Drudge didn't scoop anyone. He was simply the one to break his commitment. There are dozens of news outlets that have known about this for months. I just watched a 15 minute interview taken in December by Sky News of Prince Harry in Afghanistan. Now that Drudge has broken his word, the others are reporting what they've gathered for months.

Totally agree.
However, now that it’s out, perhaps there’s a silver lining in that it gives an example of what we should expect of our leaders.
To: Da Coyote
The thing to worry about is the BBC/ABC/NBC/PBS/Reuter reporter
Maybe Geraldo could kneel down and draw them a map in the sand.

Scooped the entire UK media
Wrong!
The entire UK media were aware of Prince Harry's deployment and agreed to show restraint.
Something Mr Drudge is obviously incapable of doing.
To: Edward Watson
He’s been there since December, and this is a three month tour. There’s not a lot that can go wrong this late in the day.
I like the fact that Harry Windsor has been fighting, and I really like the fact that the UK media agreed to say nothing. Imagine the NYT doing that!

“Shhhh... youre not supposed to have actually read what happened. Youre just supposed to overreact and blame the wrong person.”
Oops!
Mum’s the word!

I half expected the Prince would have reached some kind of ‘understanding’ about his service and I am surprised that the media has compromised him and his comrades like this. For shame!

Oh, please! It’s been on TV all day... CNN, FOX, MSNBC! I haven’t watched my local news, but you can be sure it’s there, too!

My point exactly, each one who broadcasts it blames the other.
So who is accountable? Nobody. It’s pot/kettle to me.

Not at all. It is fine that the Prince wants to do what he trained for. It is fine that he wants to demonstrate some solidarity with the coalition partners of the UK, and it’s fine that the moral of the Brits there and elsewhere in uniform must be sky high. He’s a big boy and his decision has to be respected.
It is a super moral booster for the coalition and must truly convey the proper message to Taliban murderers... just my very humble opinion.

I lost all respect for Sludge long ago.
Someone would have made it known. The drive-bys are just as low.
May God keep him safe along all our soldiers.
