Not that Time's in the tank for Obama or nuthin'. Not that its new cover merely depicts Barack with an ethereal glow, asks the question whether experience matters and answers it largely in the negative.
No, it gets much better. The magazine's editor goes on Morning Joe and just happens to mention a study comparing a new nurse with a nurse who has 35 years of experience. And he lets us know that not only did the experienced nurse not perform any better than the rookie, she actually wound up . . . killing the patient faster!

Which would YOU rather have - a nurse one year out of nursing school, or someone who was MARRIED to a nurse for 35 years?

Well, if that’s what they want, let’s hope that Stengel and Brzezinski are attended by inexperienced doctors and nurses who talk a good game but don’t know their rears from a hole in the ground.
As for me, I’d prefer a combination of the necessary knowledge, common sense, experience, and wisdom grounded in integrity. That goes for doctors, nurses, and presidents of the United States.
If that’s not possible, I’d like them to have immediate access to that type of advice and assistance and the good sense and integrity to use it properly.
Hate to say it but I’ve been a nurse since 1972. Now you here the Twilight Zone music.
