Mega-Church Pastor in Texas Backs McCain
By Elisabeth Bumiller
SAN ANTONIO Senator John McCain got support on Wednesday from an important corner of evangelical Texas when the pastor of a San Antonio mega-church, Rev. John C. Hagee, endorsed Mr. McCain for president.
Mr. Hagee, who argues that the United States must join Israel in a preemptive, biblically prophesized military strike against Iran that will lead to the second coming of Christ, praised Mr. McCain for his pro-Israel views.
John McCain has publicly stated his support of the state of Israel, pledging that his administration will not permit Iran to have nuclear weapons to fulfill the evil dreams of President Ahmadinejad to wipe Israel off the map,' Mr. Hagee said at a news conference at the Omni Hotel in San Antonio.
Mr. Hagee also praised Mr. McCain for his solid, pro-life voting record for the past 24 years.'

Since it was at the hotel, they can't say anything.True. Liberals have always let Truth stand in the way of a good smear.

Thank you for your kind response.
Anyway. . . yes, this is crazy. I don’t see how his followers could justify this.

Fair enough, but I’ve heard John Hagee and I’m convinced he wants no other than to speed up the process of the 2nd coming of Christ and if that means nuking somebody so be it. I just don’t think McCain is that crazy, does he have a temper, sure does but that doesn’t equate to crazy in my opinion.

I agree that Hagee just can’t wait for the end of the world. He and Ahmadinejad are not simply cut from the same cloth, but cut with the same master pattern.
As to McCain’s sanity? I’m inclined to believe he’s insane. God knows he’s been through enough to drive most over the edge. OTOH, one would have to be a bit crazy to want to be in politics in the first place!

You clearly do not understand the Christian faith or just like to twist what he is saying. Jesus proclaimed that he was the Son of God. What Hagee is saying is factually true as Jesus did not verbally claim to be the messiah that would lead the nation against Rome. This is what Judas wanted as a zealot for Jesus to do and why Judas betrayed Him failing to see His true mission and not believing that Jesus was the Son of God. The Jews of the time were expecting a conquering messiah to begin the messianic age and rule the world. This conquering messiah to defeat all of Israel’s enemies is prophesied to come as well as the suffering messiah. Jesus first coming was the suffering messiah to atone for the sins of man. The messiah that the Jews are expecting is the second coming of Christ with the final judgment. So your contention that Hagee is a nut is just plain wrong. He just understands scripture a lot better than most who chose to play ignorant and pick and chose words and not the real meaning.
St. Peter and St.Paul explain the very same thing in detail in their letters and preaching to the Jews, that the Jews failed to recognize the messiah because He first had to die and suffer for our sins.

and yet....Huckabee is the “party nominated” Jesus Freak.
Pastor Hagee endorses a guy who says’ he’s a Christian but states he wasn’t “born again” dispite what Jesus said to Nic at Night, rarely attends Church, and was also never baptised because....he’s waiting for what? his 71st birthday?

I bet the dems try to have Hagee shut down. I imagine he is one that Grassley is digging into.

Obama actually supports Fourth Trimester abortions. Just in case the third trimester abortion fails, Obama supports killing the baby after it is born.

He, also like me, probably feels that Huckabee is out and backing him this late in the game is a waste of power. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, Governor Bush is a Pat Robertson Republican who will lose to Al Gore..."- John McCain, 2000 Looks like Johnny's been Sunday schooled and sees the light now.
Question is, who does he feel compelled to apologize to now that Hagee has endorsed him? Gotta control those uppity supporters better, John...

I know Hagee. Hes holding his nose just like the rest of us. Read posts # 62, 74, & 24,
I know this, all my Hagee books are going into the burn barrel. If he is this off on not only the timing of endorsing McCain, but on the reasons he is trumpeting his endorsement... I don't trust what else he has to say.

He stands nearly alone in his interpetation of a dual covenant.
Vist any of the major theology forums and post that doctrine and see how far it flies.
You are “attempting” to make an argument from silence (what Jesus didn’t say)
I understand your parroting his book but unfortunaetly his view has very little scriptual support and I would be generous to call it a minority view.
He is quick to attempt to silence his critics with the “replacement theologian label” when in fact the majority of covenant theologians and dispensationalists believe that God is not yet finished with Israel, that the Church hasn’t replaced Israel, and that their salvation is through the Lord Jesus Christ. TODAY is the day of salvation.
