Cleveland, OH (LifeNews.com) -- Senator Barack Obama debated his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night and said his biggest mistake was voting to help save Terri Schiavo. Terri is the disabled Florida woman whose husband won the legal right to starve her to death.

“Why do you continue to believe this is relevant?”
Uh, maybe because the justice system is designed to bring some measure of justice to society. The guilty, in theory, are punished, while the harmed are granted restitution.
In this case, the guilty were rewarded, and the innocent was punished, painfully.
“To continue to insist this was an ‘execution’ you’re showing the weakness of your argument.”
This is pathetic. Despite the fact that my original word was murder, and the fact that I have shown you that murder and execution are synonyms, you insist on clinging to your preferred single definition of execution. Looks pretty desperate to me.
“There are tens of thousands of similar cases where life support is pulled or ‘extraordinary means’ are stopped - do you contend all of these were also ‘executions’?”
Terri was not on extraordinary life support. She simply needed food and water, which her parents begged to give her. The court ORDERED them not to give her so much as a sip of water.
On top of that, they were frisked to make sure nothing interfered with this COURT-ORDERED EXECUTION OF AN INNOCENT DISABLED American.
One day you may be glad that a few of us actually care about life.
When they come for you, it just might be one of us standing between you and your court-ordered executioner.
Yes, whenever an innocent person is murdered, with or without the approval of the government, it is an EXECUTION.

If there are other deathbots out there in Freeperland, I was telling you to feel free to invite them. I'm pretty certain that we could put together a fairly comprehensive list of FRiberal deathbots who haven't been banned if anyone is interested.

Enjoy your victory while it lasts. It's like a football game to you, isn't it?
First, you took my remark a little out of context. I said "You deathbots got what you wanted. You folks got to execute an innocent woman in the slowest and cruelest way possible. Enjoy your victory while it lasts." I guess I have to explain further to you that one day, the causes that you fight for, the positions that you advocate will come under the scrutiny of the ultimate judge. How are you going to explain this to God? Do you really think that God is going to lend a sympathetic ear to the position of executing an innocent woman in a slow and cruel manner all based on a legal technicality?
Perhaps I should have said "Enjoy your earthly victory while it lasts."
Secondly, if I viewed this as a "game" of any kind wouldn't I cheer my fellow "teammates"? Have you seen me post things like "Woohoo!", "Go get 'em!", "Hooray!"? Of course not.

She wasn't executed - that's a childish assertion.
It was a court ordered death. Execution is another word for it.
A 'less potentially painful' method would help quell people like you, ...
That would not help "quell" people like me. Wrongful execution is wrong whether there is pain involved or not.
...that seemed to have really freaked out and lost it about this whole case.
I think it was wrong. Period.
YOU are the one who has been avoiding questions. What are you so afraid of?

Another thing. First you suggest that this entire issue is nothing more than a game to me, and then later you accuse "us" (pro lifers) of "freaking out and loosing it" (post #131).
Care to elaborate?

I find it disturbingly ironic that in another major court case of 2005, Kelo v. City of New London, NONE of the liberaltarians were talking about how "wise" the Supreme Court was in its decision. This demonstrates one thing and that is that you only consider a court decision "wise" when it agrees with your agenda and in Terri's case, your bloodlust.
LOL! I think you just nailed it right there. There was something deeper at work here during this entire sad episode of judicial homicide (you'll take careful note here Swordfished that I did not use the word execution - I know you don't like that word). Something pretty ugly had to drive this bloodlust. Personally, I think it was anti-Christian bigotry.

Reminder, as we try our patience with current aggravations, liberal librarians and the like...
A thread from our Founder is recirculating, thanks to Racehorse. An extract...
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life...........

The Terri haters hate us too. If they aren’t too absurd, I’ll reply to them but I’m fully aware that they hate me with a passion. It doesn’t freak me out when freaks attack.

Posters who were for Giuliani were ZOTTED. So, why is an OBAMA proponent not gotten the zot? OBAMA is pro-death, not moderate-death but pro-death.

When the husband is Scott Peterson without a boat, he should be legally kicked to the curb instead of hired by the very Sheriff’s Dept. who withheld evidence. Said Sheriff’s Dept. has just recently KILLED another woman in their jail. Who works there? Scott Peterson without a boat.

What is sacred about a man who violates the law living with a concubine and had 2 illegitimate children with the concubine and they get married AFTER Terri is murdered??? In Terri's case, that marriage was ANYTHING BUT A SACRED BOND. It was a death sentence for her. God bless her. Barbarism is now a function of state government and federal government.

Terri had less rights than a dog. Michael Vick was treated a lot worse than Michael Schiavo. One did it with starvation and dehydration. The other did it through hanging and electrocution.

Terri’s REAL family had police in Terri’s room and the family could not get more than a foot closer to Terri. They even put boundaries on their time with Terri. Can you imagine not being able to comfort someone let alone that was being murdered by the State of Florida for an adulterer-liar???

I agree with one thing Obama says and I'm turned into an 'Obama proponent'. I won't be voting for Obama and I won't be voting for McCain. I'll be voting 3rd party.

Posted yesterday on Jillstanek.com’s Terri thread:
Jess,
I’d expect Jill’s followers to be critically thinking about the
propaganda they hear incessantly from the mainstream media.
The statement that Terri’s brain was basically mush is particularly cruel and I’m certain if her family reads Jill, as they very well might, they would take strong offense at such a lie.
Terri would light up and smile when her mother walked into
the room and she would try to speak.
Imagine your self isolated in a dark room for years, with visitors
restricted from your room at the whim of your cruel spouse.
Even tho you are just inside the grounds of a beautiful park
setting, you are denied the opportunity to be outdoors, basking
in the sunshine - listening to birds chirp and breathing
fresh air.
Imagine what your brain would look like on autopsy were you
to be denied even ice chips or a drop of water on your parched
tongue for 13 days.
Imagine how frustrated you’d be to be called a vegetable,
even while you hear the unkind things being said by your
spouse who mistreats you so - and you sadly can’t speak out
but the thoughts are exploding, desperately wanting to be
shouted.
Imagine that hundreds, if not thousands are outside your
hospice literally shouting your dignity and humanity to the
watching world while you weaken from the starvation and dehydration regime being forced on you, till the point of
death.
IMAGINE and then please soften your heart for the torture
Terri endured.
Please find some kindness to share with others about her plight.
Please.
