I think you are correct McCain must take and hold the high ground.
Surrogates, and there are plenty of them, can make the attacks and do the dirty deeds at other venues where the Senator is not present.
He should keep his attacks purely professional.
McCain only knows how to attack Republicans...He will quickly apologize and kiss a Democrats rear.
