Playing the "gentleman" never got Bush anywhere. That is the problem with the repubs, they want it both ways! Can't happen.

To defeat the Dems, we have to be as dirty as they are, the nicey, nice does not work!

Gentleman? I suppose we must have interpreted this differently. To me it read like some centrist sycophant kissing a Neo-Marxists a$$ and making a conservative feel foolish in the process.

I suppose the tirades and f-bombs are reserved for Conservative and Republicans.

I am not going to let my strong dislike of McCain lead me to do something (not voting for him) that will quite possibly get me and my family killed (having Obama-nation as C-in-C).

Exactly. Some people are so politically tone deaf. By doing this, McCain shows himself to be above the fray, which is really between Hillter & the Obamessiah while keeping the story in the news for another cycle.

It's a smart move.

He’s just saying that because his middle name is “Tinkerbelle,” and he’s a bit sensitive.

BTW... it’s ungentlemanly to use Obama’s middle name? Is that like Hillary making him wear that little Somali costume?

Poor little victim.

I don’t know if this is a coincidence but McCain’s biggest supporters on the thread so far are 2008 sign-ups. Wonder which website sent y’all here to stir up the pot.

That's the MeCain Conservatives love to hate!

The Barf Alert is for this RINO who once again, instead of standing with Conservatives, distances himself from them to appease liberals.

It deserves a barf alert. Is Obama’s middle name Osama or not? It is, so what’s the phony outrage about? McCain needs to spend as much time attacking the RATS as he does attacking Republicans.

Though I do not like McCain, I am forced to agree. He is showing some class here.

Let the Dems tear each other apart in their primary, but stay above the fray. No reason to get in the mud so early.

The problem with McCain has always been his penchant and desire to attack Republicans and defend Democrats. This is just more of the same. It is sickening.

He never had any problem with going after Romney in the most vicious underhanded fashion. He did not have a problem with blasting Ronald Reagan’s son. He has never had a problem with ridiculing or bashing Dubya. But someone calls a Democrat by their middle name and McCain is shocked. Give me a f...ing break.

McCain will always be a jerk when it comes to defending Republicans. You really did not expect a 71 year old RINO to “change” did you?

Creep McCain would rather offend his allies than his enemies. How the heck is he going to run any kind of an offense against this socialist crook? McCain is afraid to call a spade a spade. It’s time Republicans stopped playing nicey nice. RATS certainly don’t and they’ll be going after McCain with both barrels blazing and he’ll get what he deserves. It’s us that deserve better.

McCain is running for President. He has just engaged in unilateral disarmament ... " Any comment that is disparaging of either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama is totally inappropriate."

*ANY* comment? Even a truthful correction of the media hype about Obama? Even correcting lies said on Obama's behalf? He wont even bring up possible corruption links?

Making fun of a man's name is juvenile and silly and doesnt go very far. But if he's got corrupt pals, that's a legit issue to raise. McCain has hurt himself significantly with this comment. Conservatives want to help him, and he just knee-jerks them away.

Exactly, but the blowhards on this thread can't see that.

And for the blowhards on this thread, get back to me when Bill Cunningham wins an election.

I'll probably be waiting a long time.

Yeah, because acting like gentlemen has gotten us so far. McCain treats conservatives like stepchildren, he deserves to lose.

No, McCain once again "reaches across the aisle" to scratch the Dems butts.......Lots of folks here have had to put up with his maverickism for too many damn years and are trying hard to come around to convincing themselves to vote for the jerk. Myself included.

But when he once again disses his base, he is making it even harder to support him.......

HappyinAZ and newbie since January, that pretty much says it all........

“So let me understand this...McCain acts like a Gentleman...and you add a “barf alert”....nice........”

McCain only reserves his rath and name calling for his constituents and those who have to work with him. But he plays nice with the oppostion when nothing but the truth was told about them. McCain is a hypocrite, among other things.

Capitol Hill staffers rate their bosses.
McCain got no glory from those who work with him.
“Every election year we survey top aides on both sides of the aisle—administrative assistants, press secretaries, legislative directors, and chiefs of committee staffs—to get their up-close and personal, and anonymous, views. While there may be lots of partisan backbiting among congress members, their staffers seem far more capable of putting politics aside and making honest judgments. It wasn’t unusual for aides in both parties to name one of their own as “spineless” or give the “workhorse” nod to someone across the aisle. “

“So let me understand this...McCain acts like a Gentleman...and you add a “barf alert”....nice....”

I agree 100%!

Bill Cunnignham’s remarks are NO DIFFERENT than the use by the Clinton camp of the picture of Obama in Arab dress and both are equally disgusting. I may disagree with Obama’s politics, but do however think he is a decent and honest man. For our side to stoop to Clinton like attacks, and then to hear both Rush and Sean defend them has really disapointed me.

Now Bill is crying about free speech, after being critisized for his stupid remarks.....just like a moonbat would. How embarrassing he is.

Anyhow, as a former Fredhead I would just like to say....good job McCain.
