On the day that Margaret Thatcher was toppled by her own party, I ran into an old friend, a hard-core leftist playwright, Marxist to the core, who wasn't as happy as he should have been. He jabbed me in the chest. "You bastards on the right!" he fumed. "You wouldn't even let us be the ones to drive the stake through her heart."
I'm sure in America's Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy there are similar mixed feelings. The Clintons have met their Waterloo but it's not some doughty conservative warrior who gets to play Duke of Wellington, only some freshman pap peddler of liberal boilerplate whom no one had heard of the day before yesterday.
Such are the vicissitudes of politics. I see from the gay newspaper the Washington Blade that, as the headline writer put it, "Clinton Leads Among Gay Super Delegates." Only in the Democratic Party. I don't know how many supergays it takes to outvote the nonsuper primary and caucus voters from Maine to Nevada to Hawaii. They may yet pull Sen. Clinton's chestnuts out of the fire, but they're looking pretty charred and indigestible right now. Unlike the Fall of Thatcher, it's nothing so glamorous as an act of matricide, but just the nightly hell of a tired vaudeville act that can no longer find the spark.

I can’t believe how easy it was to get the party folks to follow McCain. If we brought up what’s been said about him on this forum since 2000, he is easily the most unpopular Republican. But people are circling the wagons just like the party elites want.
Dole was the worst GOP candidate I ever voted for. I wanted to wretch voting for him. I can’t vote for a political enemy. No McCain.

Hillary came into this campaign thinking she had it locked up and knew the big advantage she had would protect her from the men being aggressive toward her. Hillary came into the campaign as if it were a poker game. "I'm in!" Such an inelegant way to announce one's candidacy.

Bill Richardson, wasn’t he the guy that Bill clinton sent to bail out the Taliban when Masood and the Northern alliance were making good headway against them?

Utter Nonsense. I am sick of this misinformation campaign
by the McCain haters.
Soros has donated to all leaders in both parties for two reasons. And its the oldest political trick in the book and you fell for it.
He knows it will give people like you reason to dislike McCain and two , he knows people like you will use it to stir dissent in the Repub ranks.
Soros is pouring millions into his radical socialist fraud Obama .
He donate a small amount to some McCain related organization. McCain’s people probably have already returned the check but it won’t show up in any reports !

I fell your pain - No McCain.

Steyn is shilling for McCain, as I predicted he would long ago here. Rush will be next.

But, if he (Bill Clinton) hadn't been dropping his pants and appealing to so many of their social pathologies, his party wouldn't have been half so enthusiastic for another chorus of "I Like Ike." Hillary is what the Clintons look like with their pants up. Yes, at his best.

I don’t know how you can be friends with someone like that. Unavoidable acquaintances, perhaps, because of social circles, but not friends.
It’s often all I can do to keep from clocking some of the liberals among my acquaintances. If one of them jabbed his finger in my chest and said something like that, he’d be looking for his teeth.

The non stop parade of pantsuits was undignified and brought her down too. You cannot dress in pantsuits all the time and be taken seriously
