Yep, thankfully most people will never really know Nevada. As an exploration geologist I’ve been in every valley and range in the state and cowboyed in central Nevada for two years. I like Idaho better because I live where we actually have water...but boonies Nevada is a close second.
” Nope, my neck of the woods is 400 miles or so north by northeast. “
Hmmmm...
Somehow I had you placed in southern Idaho...
No wonder I flunked geography in the 3rd grade....
I was in the Green Zone two years ago. ;-)
Last spring, I felt safer where I am now (a base just across the river from the Green Zone) because the Green Zone was quite the favorite target of some of those people who don't like us very much.
Hiya, AV! Doing fine. How are you doing?
I think every generation believes they are living in the “end times”. Can you imagine being alive during one of the plagues in Europe? The art of that time is quite extraordinary and really tells the tale of what people were thinking back then.
I wonder whatever happened to Baghdad Bob?
Glad to see you’re checking in fine. My family that lives up there are fine also. He’s a volunteer FF and said the call has gone out for a red cross center to set up. The epicenter was around Wells?
She’s Cool......:o)
I have spent a good portion of my life working on the bombing range north of I-80 between Salt Lake City and Wendover.
It is an amazing area. The remains of the donner party is still visable, there is an old WW2 prisoner camp out there, mostly just outlines of the buildings, and a great ghost town called Lucin.
Lucin (spelling probably wrong) was a thriving town of mostly Chinese railroad workers , 20,000 strong that burned to the ground. The old town dump contains Chinese pottery and china dating back to the 1870’s.
It is amazing how pristine an area can be kept when it is on a bombing range.

He found his calling. He is a TV entertainer (game show host) in the UAE area. He's worked in Dubai and I heard he's in Qatar now.
Norway, Greece, Nevada, Indonesia.
This has nothing to do with the full moon. Nothing at all. No statistical correlation. Forget it.
Good morning - surprise :) I need to look at a map, sounds north of Dixie Valley by quite abit so kind of unusual I think.
So you are convincec of the link between the full moon and EQ’s too?
I told my son last Thursday that this week would be a very active earthquake week. He now thinks I have psychic powers.

I have a dear friend who lives in Elko. I tried her today and her cell phone has been disconnected, so I have no way of contacting her now:-(( was there any damage in Elko?
KUTV.com says these images are from Wells.
Yep. Apparently some damage to a building in Wells, but I’m not sure which one. Wells isn’t the most structurally-sound town in the continental U.S...
Our executive secretary suggested we should have a scrambled eggs promotion at the hotel today!
Not much at all, pollywog. I’m sure she’s fine!
The only damage we’ve got around here are potholes after the long winter. :-)
Wasn’t sure if he was on the “most wanted” list...He sure added a bit of comic relief there at the end, didn’t he?!
