From the coordinates, looks like the epicenter is a couple miles south of I-80, about 10 miles east of Wells, NV.

Pretty routine for the Basin and Range. Nevada is stretching apart, and there are numerous North-South faults (on the edges of each moutain range). The ranges swing higher as if on a hinge, and when they do by several feet, you have one of these earthquakes.
