This was the plan all along. Build him up, get the nomination, then destroy him for either Obama or Hillary. They were NEVER going to support a Republican.

This was as predictable as the Sun rising in the East! Anyone who was surprised by this is a complete fool.

It`s all over for Hillary, and now it`s all over for McCain. The media won`t let up and will force McCain to concentrate on this all the way to November. Best get ready for a Mr. Empty Suit (Obama) President.

When this was breaking last night I was wondering about the timing of this, since he’s got the nomination wrapped up. This seems more like an “October surprise” story. I’m thinking they see the Republicans starting to calm down and come together behind McCain(even though there are still serious differences) - Now they’re trying to stir the pot a little to keep the right uneasy.

... for the conspiracy folks ... the story was planted by McPain’s operatives to swing anti-McPain conservatives over to his defense. After all, who would you believe when choosing between the NYT and McP?

Once he has notable conservative detractors on record supporting him, he will ignore us all just like the R party has ignored the conservative core for years. He knows that conservatives, being honorable, dependable, etc, will rather vote for him than any D socialist.

While my disgust with Huckleberry knows no bounds, I truly believe that having Huck still in the race keeps McPain from moving left of Cankles. When elected, and I think McPain will be elected POTUS, expect the USA to evolve into a socialist state just slightly less obscene than Hillary’s vision. After all, McPain has never met a Democrat that he didn’t like.

He could choose Thompson as his VP, resign under pressure from the "scandal" and then turn his delegates over to Thompson. Thompson could choose Rice as his VP and Thompson/Rice could then run against Obama/Edwards.

Agree, absolutely.

The NYT"S 'endorsement' of McCain was no more than a ploy; so as to give credilbility to this download and the paper that delivered it.

Am wondering as well; if McCain now sees the 'Left' in a truer light. He was probably thinking all his 'hand-holding' with these Libs paid off after all, by NYT's endorsement.

Now he should see/understand, what is really important to the 'Marxist-Leftist.' . .

_____

As predicted by many Freepers here weeks, months and years ago.

The Dem/Msinstream Media plan is working to perfection. Spend years pushing McCain as the “maverick, centrist Republican who can win.” Split the Republican party, marginalize conservatives and talk radio. Once McCain is nominated, turn on him, brainwash the moderates who secured the nomination for McCain into voting for Hillobama.

The conservative movement crushed; Liberal Democrat is president. Nirvana.
