At least the commies at the NYT pulled this sh*t before the convention. Maybe this will allow someone else to step up. They ran the story to soon.

I just read a whole lot of words with a whole lot of innuendos and a whole lot of nothing.

On Dec. 20, the Drudge Report carried a flash that the New York Times was probing the possibility that McCain gave “special treatment” to a lobbyist — and that the senator had asked the paper to kill the story. Drudge sources called the Times piece a “high-impact report involving key telecom legislation before the Senate Commerce Committee.”

The same day, McCain told reporters that he “had not been in talks with the New York Times. They’ve been communicating with our staff and with us,” McCain said. “I’ve never done any favors for anybody — lobbyist or special interest group — that’s a clear, 24-year record.”

“several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.”

Not very credible. Aside from the fact that no one is on record, the NYT is reporting it.

1999?

Big deal.

Clintonwas still wiping stuff off the Oval Office rug in 1999.

The real story is why did they hold off on this until after the Republican primaries.

McCain had affair?

You bet. It was with Charles Keating who worked at Lincoln Savings and Loan.

At that time, when confronted with the bribery allegation, Mr. Ethical's answer was: "They (US Senators) all do it!".

I thought the NY Times liked McCain. Didn’t they just endorse him? Maybe this hit will make McCain pick a big fight with these liberals.

Pretty empty allegations, but the point is innuendo. Doesn't change my opinion of McCain one iota (disliked him before, dislike him no more or less now).

Another angle to consider here is that this story will be used as a lead-in to rehash McCain's real affair while they have everyone's attention. The truth is bad enough - McCain was still married and living with his first wife in 1979 while bumping uglies with a then 25-year-old Cindy. McCain later divorced his first wife (who had remained faithful and raised their three children while he was imprisoned in Vietnam), married Cindy, and then launched his political career. This got a little play in 2000 during the Republican primaries, but not much. I doubt his affair will become a persistent theme this time, but it could happen.

The NYT /Dem media operatives must be mad .This story was meant to be the Sept 2008 convention surprise which would a socialist in the WH.
Then the old media would get its power back via the fairness doctrine and massive internet legislation which would shut everything down !
This is the Dem’s and the Dem media strategy !

Let me get this straight. The NY Times endorses McCain, and then releases a hit on him?

Whether or not mcloon had an affair, it’s a moot point.

There’s were millions simply enraptured by rudy911 and he not only had affairs, he was blatantly open about it.

Morals are passé these days.

OK....Here's my TIN-FOIL HAT version.....

#1. NYT has story about McCain affair say at least as early as Dec07.

#2. NYT waits.....endorses McCain KNOWING they can try to sink him if he gets GOP 2008 nomination.

#3. Obama or Hillary wait in the wings, with Obama starting to appear the front runner.

#4. NYT KNOWS the "Sinclair-Obama Gay Sex Story" is about to erupt VERY SOON in the ACTUAL MSM.

$5. NYT CAN'T hold on to McCain story for later (like the 4th week in October 08, similar to the GWB DUI) and must use it NOW before the OBAMA story goes "critical mass".

#6. NYT "leaks" McCain story.

#7. McCain denies story.

#8. Obama story FINALLY breaks big enough to be talked about by MSM talking heads.

#9. MSM "discovers" leak of the story is found to have come from the "McCain camp".

#10. Obama camp is "OUTRAGED!!!!!!!!!" Tells everyone that this is the old RNC dirty tricks that WHEN he's (Obama) elected POTUS he will put a FINAL end to all this "politics as usual"!!!!

#11. Nov 5th, 2008. McCain personally thanks Guam for their votes to him since it is the only place nationwide that McCain tallies more votes than Obama.

#12. Obama and Michelle start the "Change America (to a 3rd world power) Tour on Jan 20th, 2009.

Someone, somewhere really needs to publish or make public, Rutenberg and Pinch Sulzberger’s home address and phone number. It is clear from the outset that he wasn’t dating the lobbyist...

Rutenberg and Sulzberger, desperately need to be Mobstalked...
