Early in Senator John McCains first run for the White House eight years ago, waves of anxiety swept through his small circle of advisers.
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a clients corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself instructing staff members to block the womans access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
When news organizations reported that Mr. McCain had written letters to government regulators on behalf of the lobbyists clients, the former campaign associates said, some aides feared for a time that attention would fall on her involvement.
Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship.
Hey there are faintings at Obama speeches.., they just want to hear the mere words: “Change” and “Hope”.
How can you have them digest “Substance” when Obama supporters are allergic to “Substance”?
Bush & the Lady in Question.
OMG
I always knew Bush adored young ladies!
I think Alan Keyes is an alright guy. I applaud his pro life views. He’s a bit confrontational, even with people like Sean Hannity.
I don't care who you are, now that's funny...
Hmmmm, what if she is a Mormon?
Now, now, walsh07!! No four-letter words allowed here! I VOTE BANISHMENT!!
Here’s my theory: Hillary Clinton and the Clinton smear machine knows that Obama will be exposed next week for the limo affair in 1998. Now that McCain had the GOP nomination wrapped up, stop him now as well.
I smell Chris Lehane.
Sorry, but I do not thing the GOP has “superdelegates”......
I think that with this coming out this far before the election that McCain will have enough time to counter it.
Too bad McCain represents the wrong party for this to be just another “Oh yeah, so what, it happened a long time ago?” kind of scandal.
It gets old real fast doesn't it? Good thing the leftists in the press didn't convince these same people that Bush had an affair, got the chick pregnant before she killed herself with absolutely no proof. They would be making idiotic statements, wouldn't they? /sarcasm
LOL.
I don’t really know why, but for some reason, Olbermann’s eyebrows always crack me up.:)
He may be a swell guy, he was a hoot in the 2000 campaign, with his jumps into the mosh pit and all. But viable candidate he is not.
If this is true, McCain will go the way of Rudy. At least in McCain’s case, it’s a woman he’s involved with.
Pick a conservative running mate, win the election, get him to lie under oath and I’ll be there with the democrats supporting impeachment.
Oh stop.
Look, this is serious, Bush had his picture taken with the Lady!
Now that McCain secures nomination NYTimes unloads on him....Devel...
Bingo TommyDale, my exact thoughts.
Cool.
I am not a hypocrite. I have never had an affair with a married woman, or any type of homo-erotic or ephebophilic relationship.
Nor have I ever lied under oath.
Being the press’s favorite Republican stops at the water’s edge. I really hope McCain wasn’t surprised by that.
