The US is split approximately 50/50 Democrats/Republicans. The Independent votes decide who wins a general election. Independents tend not to vote in prmaries, but they are voting this time and they’re voting for Obama. Even more Independents will show up in November, and Obama wins. He will win by a larger margin due to the fact many conservatives will skip that line on the ballot, and I’ll be one of them.

Tonight for the first time he seemed somewhat stale and automated, less “real” for lack of a better word.

His delivery just seems more and emptier with lots of manufactured emotion but very little substance.

The novelty has just begun to wear off for me. Your thoughts?

Exactly! I was wondering if he was sick or just plain exhausted tonight (lots of flu going around, I just got over it). It was like he was going through the motions... tonight was definitely not his best effort. LOL, hope it continues...

If people are going to define GWB as a “Failure” then they are utter morons who have utterly no clue what they are talking about. You'd think so, but I'm starting to think that a pretty face and fast talk will screw us big time. You got conservatives who won't vote for McCain, conservatives who will vote for Hillary to 'teach the Republican party a lesson' and make things so bad the Republicans will win elections for the next 100 years, and women who've lost all power of thought and rationality and will vote for Obama because he is cute. I'm personally acquainted with a few of those great minds.

His competition from Castro for world’s longest speeches is gone now, so he’s making a run at the title. Matter of fact, he just said ‘this is our moment’.

My husband has a friend (now in his mid-50s) who grew up in the old Soviet Union. The friend mentioned today that Fidel Castro would come to the Soviet Union occasionally back in the early 1960s. Fidel would give 4-5 hour speeches... my husband's friend and other Soviet school children were forced to listen to the entire speech (through a translator). He said Fidel spoke quite a bit about "change" and "hope", and that he and the other school children joked that Castro must have been paid by the word, as his speeches were so long.

He doesn’t get Hail To The Chief, either, or the White House, or any of these ‘outmoded symbols’.

He just gets what he deserves, to lose.
