I liked the part where he whacked the annointed one.

It is a pretty good speech. He’s hitting Obama and Clinton both pretty hard.

I have to agree, I haven’t seen much of him this year, but this one was very very good.
He took on Obama head-on, placing a nice gut shot on foreign policy.
More great lines: “I am not the most youthful candidate but I am the most experienced”
He also said that he owed America far more than it owed him. That one is particularly humbling given his sacrifices in Vietnam.
I predict he’ll go up in the polls over the next few weeks, as Hillary mounts a last final pathetic effort to take out Obama.

Very good speech by McCain. Laced with humility.
To: jveritas
I'll agree with you on that one. I've never thought him a particularly good speaker, but he did a fine job tonight.
The Michelle Obama comments should be an easy commercial for either Clinton or McCain.

Wait, you really are saying that was a good speech? Did you mean to add a sarcasim tag?
Because that was just another of a long line of BORING ASSED speeches he read off the teleprompter in his monotone drone.
He bores the crap out of me!

Mclame.........
You will never get my vote. Say whay you want...Hillery , Obama. McCain is a lying turncoat. I have no use for him.
I will not vote for the lesser of three evils..not this time....no way. John Mclame has obstructed and fought against all my conservative principles for too long. I will not hold my nose. I’m not sure what I’ll do in the general but I know what I won’t do.
See tag line.

To: jveritas
It was a slam dunk that McCain would say he was proud of American - how could anyone be surprised after all this fuss has been made over this statement? He and Cindy might have come up with something more original.
He is so proud he wants open borders, amnesty, and he even voted against the Cornyn amendment. He actually wants terrorists admitted. No doubt Hillary will bring out his record regarding his stand on POW/MIA issues.

It was good speech -- a couple good jabs, a couple glittering generalities, and a couple statements we can all interpret to fit our personal desires best. Yes, it was a good speech as far as speech-giving goes. But ... see ... I'm tired of "good speeches". Many folks are so gifted. Today, I want someone in office I can TRUST. McCain isn't it. No sale. Send me someone better ... I'll wait.
