So I wonder if the same data was valdated by McClatchy (of whatever they were called by in the 90’s) when their her0 was President.
So how I doubt it.
So that’s it. There may not be many jobless but those who are are really, really jobless.
If anybody wants me, I’ll be curbside setting up my apple stand. Wearing my ribbons, of course...
That political propaganda, not Journalism, you are printing their McClatchy.
Why look real hard for a job when Uncle Sam pays them to not find one?
I remember the ‘worst economy in 50 years’. (1991)
What a load of BS. Maybe idiots are spending more time searching because they are buying into some kind of utopian crap about you must find your perfect job, and then quit after a year because it just doesn’t feeeeeeeel right. I have known several men who in the last 2 years have dragged their families around to at least 3 different cities in three different states, seaching for that “perfect” job. Newsflash: Most of us won’t find it, but will find decent jobs that put food on the table and don’t mess with the family.
The unemployment rate in Midland County, Texas has been 2.3% for years now.
If you have a pulse, you can have a job.
If you have a strong back and can pass a drug test, you can make $100,000/yr in the oil field.
Sorry, not buying it.
Gee, there must be a ‘Pubby in the Whitehouse...
Institutionalized extortion.
When unemployment is down to 4.5% as it is here in AZ and with illegals leaving in droves, there is no valid reason for not working at something. Yes, there is a core group of unemployables and they will never work. That amounts to about 3% but I don’t think they are in the mix.
Bottom line... get of’n ur arse and get a job!
My husband lost his job of 22 years to a plant moved due to Nafta. He went to school for two years for a welding degree. That field is dried up regionly and now he literally can’t find a job in McDonalds.
Of course I”m sure alot of FR will call him a loser and bum. He has tried Walmart, Home Depot, every fast food restaurant, grocery stores. It’s hopeless in our area and sadly until he has a job, we can’t afford to move. And gas at $3.00 a gallon, can’t afford and $8 job to drive 80 miles commute. We are still trying to make it through and have just cashed in all our savced change for the house note.
Extended unemployment benefits exacerbate the number of jobless.
