Polygraph testing is
sheer pseudoscience, and while it may make for titillating low-brow political theater, it is a poor substitute for actual evidence. For a thorough debunking of the polygraph, see AntiPolygraph.org's e-book,
The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (1 mb PDF):

Considering he has offered up receipts and the limo driver, the polygraph is only part of the case.

Doesn’t matter. We are talking about the general population hearing he passed a lie detector test - if he does and the impact that has with some of them.
I hear you about lie detector tests being very unreliable; probably why they are not admissable as evidence anymore, eh?

If everyone best in a position to know thought that polygraph was worthless then it would not exist to the extent it does. Governments, corporations, and lots of individuals use polygraph as a tool.
