Polygraph testing is sheer pseudoscience, and while it may make for titillating low-brow political theater, it is a poor substitute for actual evidence. If everyone best in a position to know thought that polygraph was worthless then it would not exist to the extent it does. Governments, corporations, and lots of individuals use polygraph as a tool.

Polygraphs are used all the time. They are not used in many courts because they do not meet the strict legal evidentiary standards for reliabile scientific testing. But, they are used by the police, govt. agencies and private enterprise all the time.

Lots of people (up to and including a past First Lady of the United States) consult horoscopes. By your reasoning, that proves that astrology is valid.
