"It's over" (Hillary supporter in Arkansas says Obama will win nomination)
ArkansasTimes.com ^ | February 18, 2007 | Max Brantley

I'd be happy to be wrong. For a variety of reasons, I'd prefer Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

But it's not going to happen. She'll be clobbered in Wisconsin tomorrow. She might run ahead, even win, the popular vote in Texas, but the delegate count will be close, probably pro-Obama. The media talk, the popular mood, the times -- they all work for Obama.

Finally, there's been the Clinton campaign. Fighting, seriously, today about Obama's borrowing of rhetoric from a friend is a sign of desperation. Obama is derivative. So is everyone. And Bill Clinton -- who knew? -- has proved to be a negative.

The media megaphone can't be underestimated.

Some of it is crazy. Some of it unfair. So is life.

Obama will win the nomination. Polls today say he'll beat McCain everywhere -- in every key state and nationally. Those same polls said the same thing about Hillary Clinton's sure dominance a few months ago.

For the record.

Arkansas Times journalist Max Brantley is one of Hillary's biggest, most important supporters in Arkansas. When he says "it's over" for Hillary, this will have a significant negative impact on her campaign. This article may seal her fate: doomed.

Rove was just on Fox saying that he thinks Wisconsin is closer than the polls show.

Don’t be so sure. This analysis is based on the idea of fair democratic elections.
Shrillary’s adviser, Harold Ickes has already indicated they will muscle Obama for the nomination at the convention.

I’ve heard Wisconsin is pretty close too. That plus taking into account Hillary’s lead in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, I don’t get the whole “Hillary is finished” mindset.

It will be interesting to see how much pull she and Bubba have with those “super delegates”.

There is no way that Hillary does not get the Dem nomination.

If Vegas is giving odds, then there is a fortune to be made.

I guess he built the bridge to the 21st Century... and then burned it.

"...This article may seal her fate: doomed."

I wouldn't count her out. You would need crosses and stakes to stop her. Stand over the grave with a giant mallet ready to pound her back into the ground.

I can’t believe that the country would vote McCain, a liberal pretending to be a conservative, pretending to be a Republican, over an honest to goodness, no bones about it, liberal.

A significant amount of his support traces to the fact he's not Hillary.

Compared to her resume', Obama's blank resume' looks golden.

I believe that Hillary Clinton will win Wisconsin by 5 to 6 points tomorrow, but it will have very little effect on the delegates because both will end up splitting evenly the Wisconsin delegates and Obama will maintain his approximately 140 delegates lead going to Texas and Ohio.
