PETA has been showing films of downer cattle, pigs, and all kinds of animals for years. Animals so near dead people put chains around them and pull them by truck and tractor into the slaughter area.
I think when news stories like this come out the PETA people just shake their heads wondering why it took so long.

Animal Farm meets Soylent Green.

Slaughter houses used to be staffed by Americans at good blue collar wages. Now they are staffed by aliens, often illegal, at minimum wages or below.
This is how they would slaughter cattle in Southern 3rd world nations, so why not do it likewise here? It is a classic example of illegals bringing their values with them.

Courtesy Comment:
PETA has become so radical over the last 15 years that most common sense citizens do not take them seriously.
When the majority of PETA members and it’s leadership take psychiatric exams and pass, then maybe some will take a second look at their kooky and most usually stupid ideals.

...affect beef products dating to Feb. 1, 2006... Isnt' 99.9% of that stuff long gone by now? May as well recall beef from the 18th Century.

The price of a Big Mac It's probably about a one day supply for the USA and only a couple hours for the entire planet. If the packing plant is shut down, though that could be significant.

That could be true. I do realize that they have made efforts on that front. IMHO - It seems something as big as this with the USDA involved would help PETAs cause if they approached it from an educational point of view.
I know how PETA works and was a member from 1989-1992 until subgroups (ALF/ELF) starting setting fire to labs etc. Subsequently, I learned some unsavory things about the organization and did not want to be a part of it anymore because of it all.
For the record....I have been a conservative all my life and a complete vegetarian for many, many years. It works for me and I do not expect anyone else to do as I do.....however, I do expect people to respect me enough to let me do it in peace... ;)

EXACTLY and I don’t feel an iota of sumpathy for Westland/Hallmark Meat Co. The bastards are only interested in cheap labor. Well, cheap labor is paying off this time!
