By calling conservatives "fake Christians," Barkley is being broadly judgmental of an entire group of people. Irony, anyone?

Not to mention that the Bible verse is taken out of context in the first place.

I know several non-Christian conservatives. I'm tired of people on the left continually linking conservatism with Christianity (and usually with the derogatory "fundamentalist" label, to boot).

I also know some Christian liberals. Are they any less judgmental? No, actually, at least in my own experience, I'd say that if anything, the ones I've met tend to be more judgmental of others.

But I don’t like the way the Republicans are taking this country. Every time I hear the word “conservative,” it makes me sick to my stomach, because they’re really just fake Christians, as I call them. That’s all they are. But I just — I’m going to vote Democratic no matter what.
