TOP 10 REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN
Don Feder's Cold Steel Caucus ^ | 02/14/2008 | Don Feder

Posted on 02/16/2008 1:49:07 PM PST by Witch-king of Angmar

I just got back from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., where conservatives began lining up behind a man who’s been sticking it to us for years. By a process of self-hypnosis, many have managed to convince themselves that McCain is actually one of us.

Not for nothing did Benjamin Disraeli call conservatives the stupid party.

What part of John McCain do we not get? McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Edwards -- among other socialist, anti-speech, open-borders, enviro-Marxist measures he’s co-sponsored with the hardcore left of the Democratic Party over the years.

If Il Duce had served with him in the United States Senate, there would be McCain-Mussolini.

$1.4 billion stimulus/national security package

Judicial appointments... he's already got a proven track record.

Only difference in McCain is a R, & that doesn't make him a conservative.

The Patient’s Bill of Rights

Keating 5

Swift Boat Vets

Tax cuts record

What he has done, is doing and will do to the Republican Party... and more important, to conservatism.

“...rump-ranger lobby,..”

LOL!!!

OK, you’re right in everything you say. But the damage that can be done in 4 years by HildObama is too much to stomach.

That being said, as rotten as the dems candidates are, I’m still not sure I can pull the lever for McCain. I just don’t know if it’s in me.

I can think of not one single reason to vote for McCain. When he voted against the Cornyn amendment, that was as extreme as it gets.

BTW, last week when I put "McCain" and "Manchurian Candidate" into google, I received 39,100 hits. Today it is 192,000 hits.

We all need to stay behind our nominee. It is ridiculous to argue about it. Don’t see the left is salivating over our arguing

If you don’t think McCain is destructive, you must have drunk the Kool-aide. McCain will just do it at a SLOWER RATE but they will accomplish the same DESTRUCTION.

I'd rather be "destroyed" over the period of a few generations versus in 4 years...

I suppose that, since a small cut on your finger may mean you eventually bleed to death, you take the attitude of just getting it all over and slitting your throat?

“Zealotry will kill you”

Yes. Zealotry is a good description of the way McCain handles himself.

McCain will just do it at a SLOWER RATE but they will accomplish the same DESTRUCTION.

As Schwarzenegger (and to some extent Bush) has proven, he will do it at a FASTER RATE as all Republican opposition will be silenced and arms will be twisted to go-along-to-get-along.

The enemy within can do much more damage than the one you face with all your might.

Very sage advice. The time for fighting was in December. It's over - now we have to do what's best for the country and that's John McCain, versus Hillary! or Obama.

we need to get ready for 2012/2016...

No doubt BUT can you foresee the results of a Democrat President and a Democrat Congress...
1- A ruining/mandated/enforced Health care system
2- A ruined Iraq generating terrorists like flies
3- Iran with nukes / Israel at war
4- Taxes out the wazoo
5- Taxpayer funded abortions even after birth
6- Global warming police
7- Jimmy Carter sweaters / sky high interest rates and MALAISE
8- Gun confiscations... for the children in our Universities
9- Fair doctrine redux
10- Another 9/11...but bigger

The alternative is too scary...I’ll hold my nose and vote McCain.

Read the reasons and don’t vote.....destroy America by electing Hillary.

You political pragmatists are just like the folks who want to capitulate with the muzzies: you'll compromise your values in the hopes that they'll eat you last. The single best thing (and only proveable assertion) that you can make about McCain is that "he's not as bad as Obama or Hillary." But, at the end of the day, you'll still lose, but maybe it'll take you 20% longer than it would have under Hillary. At least with the enemy out in the open, the GOP sheeple in congress won't feel they have to blithely follow patently destructive policies, which they'd otherwise oppose if it's a democrat in The Oval Office.

Before the American Revolution, you would have argued that it was best not to stick by what you believed in but to find some reasonable accomadation to live in peace with King George.

Like the song goes, "You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything."

That’s the only reason I’ll pull the lever for him - and I’ll crawl through broken glass to do it, too.

That said, McCain’s still at the bottom of the barrel - and the barrel, sadly, is on the ocean floor.

If people want to believe that John McCain isn’t a Demoncrat - well, perhaps that takes “guts” to ignore the truth? In my book, it says people are LYING to themselves. Lies are not truth.

Yes, lies are NOT the truth, and it's about time you STOP lying. Refute this:

McCain: 82% lifetime American Conservative Union rating
Obama: 8% lifetime American Conservative Union rating
Hillary!: 9% lifetime American Conservative Union rating

So you're saying that someone with an 82% lifetime ACU rating is the same as someone with an 8% rating?

Get a grip...

When people have to try and convince die hard conservatives that never miss voting in an election that they will have to come out and vote or our candidate will lose then it is really a lost cause.

The excitement on the Democratic side is huge. They will flood the voting booths like they did for John Kerry and they weren't even excited about him. John McCain will draw nothing like W did in 2004 when all on our side were fighting for him, working to elect him, urging others to vote.

Sorry but a backstabber, tax raiser, global warming, destroy our national sovereignty bitter old man is not going to fire up the base. This could be ugly in November. In my opinion, an ugly outcome will lead to the Republican party returning to what wins for them and that is conservatism.

If this were about smacking somebody upside the head to get their attention, that’s one thing, but it is much more serious and consequntial than that.
I’ve written smarmey posts about ‘why should “we” get blamed for the fallout of Mac’s liberal policies?’, but it’s important to take a serious look at what happens to America with 4 or 8 years of either Dem.
The future of this country is more important than having to live with only half of a conservative.
