TOP 10 REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN
Don Feder's Cold Steel Caucus ^ | 02/14/2008 | Don Feder

Posted on 02/16/2008 1:49:07 PM PST by Witch-king of Angmar

I just got back from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., where conservatives began lining up behind a man who’s been sticking it to us for years. By a process of self-hypnosis, many have managed to convince themselves that McCain is actually one of us.

Not for nothing did Benjamin Disraeli call conservatives the stupid party.

What part of John McCain do we not get? McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Edwards -- among other socialist, anti-speech, open-borders, enviro-Marxist measures he’s co-sponsored with the hardcore left of the Democratic Party over the years.

If Il Duce had served with him in the United States Senate, there would be McCain-Mussolini.

Part of the problem is that the primaries have been frontloaded with states that allow cross-over voting by dems and independents - THEY helped to select John McCain. That’s just wrong.

“So to you the only consideration at all in this election is the war in Iraq?”

At least 50% of my vote is because of that.
I also do not want the nightmare of Hilda-bama selecting any supreme court judges.
I also think that McCains feet can be held to fire by conservatives to some extent.

I do not buy the worst case scenario painted by the people that wont vote for McCain will come to pass to the extent they think.

We stand a chance with McCain, slim perhap or maybe better then slim, but a chance.

Hilda-bama will just flip us the bird and try to build the USSR again here in the USA. If we dont get nuked that is by islamo facists.

What a miserable excuse for defeat.

Overcome your hatred of loss and vote for McCain. he will only serve one term and can’t possibly do the damage that a Marxist will certainly do.

Your hatred will get us killed.

Your problem now is that McCain is.

If you are not with him and the party, you take the default position of being for a Marxist.

McCain hired Juan Hernandez as his Mexican Outreach Advisor. I don't need to explain who this man is.

McCain needs to explain why he made him part of his team.

Problem I have with a possible McCain Presidency is that the man has a record as such that he simply does not deserve to be POTUS. You and I both know that were he elected, probably before inauguration day there would appear on this forum threads entitled “pray to...er, FOR President McCain” and people fawning all over the dirtbag like he is the second coming of Ronaldus Maximus.

The @ss-clown doesn’t deserve it.

No, he doesn’t. I have a hard time listening to the guy even.

But see no other way myself for now.

And electing him doesn’t mean conservatives stop fighting for conservatism. We must get real conservatives loaded into the election “hopper” so they will be there for us to vote for.

“And electing him doesn’t mean conservatives stop fighting for conservatism.”

That is what is said NOW to get people to shut up and vote for him, then were he elected, the mantra would be, “for the good of the party, stop fighting it.”

“Overcome your hatred of loss and vote for McCain. he will only serve one term and can’t possibly do the damage that a Marxist will certainly do”

You honestly believe that eight years of Bush followed by four years of McCain will be good for conservatism and the GOP? Bush was an honest mistake (Fool me once, shame on you). McCain is the equivalent of “fool me twice, shame on me”. Bush followed by McCain will empower the moonbats beyond belief in 2010 and 2012! Read your history!

Your priorities are horribly misguided. The well being of the nation, the protection from the terror of liberalism is the goal and trumps marginal gains for conservatism.

Conservitism can’t grow with Rush gone or Shawn or the rest of Talk radio that has nurtured the growth. With an unanswered MSM out for blood, conservatism will be drawn and quartered.

Bush was not a mistake except in the eyes of the moonbats and their allies..

“With an unanswered MSM out for blood, conservatism will be drawn and quartered.”

That’s my point. McCain will only offer the left ammunition, which is ironic since he is not a true conservative.

We can both agree that McCain is a one-termer. But history and common sense dictate that McCain WILL be followed by a Democrat. Hillary would likely usher in a Republican in 2012.

My point is that there is no true difference between McCain and Hillary for the years between 2008 and 2012. But I truly believe that McCain will offer up greater long term damage in the backlash which he will guarantee for 2012.

Politics is a pendulum. Hillary will allow the pendulum to swing back quicker with minimal damage. McCain could destroy the GOP for decades to come.

Hubby and I were discussing this tonight and he mentioned that he believes the media loves the likes of McCain because if by some fluke he wins, they can live with him. It would be smart policy for conservatives to always see who the media likes, and then vote for someone else.

You’re correct, I should have been more specific. I would have gladly supported Thompson or Hunter (sadly, they were not in the race when it was my turn to cast a primary ballot). However, my point still stands. If the RNC offers me Rinos, I will continue to not support them.
BTW, why are the primaries done as they are? Is there a reason they cannot either all be on the same day, or rotate who goes first? It seems unfair that a few states can basically decide for the rest of us who we get to vote for.

YOU are exactly right!

John McCain will not be a SLOWER poison, he will be a FASTER Poison who we will NOT be able to resist for the same reason so many F’n cowards here are now sucking up to support him because “ohhh ohhh we can’t have Hillary”.

At least we will be UNITED in our outrage and opposition to her/it.

If we get McCain, we will not only continue the decline started by Bush, it will be another 20 years before we get the Congress back.

Hillary or Barak means a VERY high likelihood of getting the Congress BACK in 2 years.

THAT will do more for the country than supporting McCain.

F that. F that to F’n hell!!

I will not... WILL NOT vote FOR that man. Period.

Anyone who does ...

I don’t even have words acceptable for human ears to say to them...
