Concealed Carry: ABC Apparently Thinks Fish-In-a-Barrel Better Than OK Corral

Interviewing a student advocate of concealed carry on campus, Good Morning America's Bill Weir fretted today that it coud lead to an "OK Corral" situation.
Weir spoke with Mike Guzman, a student at Texas State University who's the head of a national group called Students for Concealed Carry on Campus. Weir's opening question: "Are you carrying a gun now?"
Guzman said that he was, and does so everywhere but on campus. Sort of made me wish Guzman had asked Weir if he was unarmed.
You can view the video of the entire interview here, but I'd focus on this bit of editorializing by Weir:
BILL WEIR: The idea if there's two or three people in an economics class, and a gunfight breaks out, are you really saying, it's sort of like we're devolving to the OK Corral here.

Maybe if they bothered to report on the number of times things like this have been PREVENTED by people carrying guns they would realize it not a choice between “The OK Corral” (where only bad guys got wacked, BTW) and mass murder.

Only 3 died at the OK Corral, idiot.

"Are you carrying a gun now?" Typical ABC reaction to anyone with whom they disagree. Immediately go personal.

"BILL WEIR: The idea if there's two or three people in an economics class, and a gunfight breaks out,..."What an asinine question!
These aren't "gunfights" we're talking about at places like Va. Tech and up in Illinois - they're slaughters!

The Today Show is broadcast in a city where it is virtually illegal to own a gun, and produced by people who most likely have never even touched a firearm. They are natural hoplophobes, people who possess an irrational fear of guns. As opposed to their natural sympathy for criminals who use them, that is.

I meant to say “Good Morning America” instead of the Today Show, but as a practical matter there is no difference between their political proclivities.

Precisely. Same difference.

I wouldn’t have answered the question. “Concealed carry” means no one needs to know whether I have it unless and until there’s some need to use it.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Bill Weir, like most liberals, believes that people don’t have a basic, natural right to defend themselves from immanent death. He believes that its right and proper that the violent criminal always has the upper hand in a violent attack. In otherwords, surrender is the best policy.
One wonders if he’d feel that way if he was the victim of a violent home invasion.

I wouldnt have answered the question. Of course. But just imagine the horror of the News twit if you said that to them. They would probably faint or lose all bowel control at the mere thought of any one of us peons having a nasty wicked evil GUN in close proximity to their precious pristine person!
It would be loads of fun to watch their reactions.
