It turns out the only honeybees that are really having a problem are the ones that are bred commercially, where the eggs mature in honeycomb cells that are bigger than wild honeycomb cells (the fungus or microbe that goes after them does better in the bigger cells, killing off maturing bees). Wild honeybees are not suffering this problem, only the ones people gave bigger honeycombs to produce larger bees.

Well, it’s good to know the bees aren’t disappearing.

I kind of classify all news stories into two varieties:

Those with some useful information.

Those that are written to elicit some form of fear or dread.

I knew the bee story was overblown but I didn’t know the details your provided. I’m sure the sunspots will show up again in their own time.

I do kind of wonder with the sunspots missing how it is affecting Global Warming(TM) on Mars.
