The Tehran-based Arabic-language Al-Alam TV led its 1000 gmt news summary with the announcement that it had obtained footage of the "assassination of the commander of the Islamic resistance, the martyr Imad Mughniyah, in Kfar Susah District, in the Syrian capital Damascus, on Tuesday".
The newsreader added: "The clip, taken with a mobile phone, shows the moment of the explosion and fire breaking out in the car which had been detonated by remote control. Reports had said that the assassination was carried out by blowing up a booby-trapped car which was parked next to martyr Mughniyah's car as he was crossing the street to get to his car."
The report concluded: "Al-Alam TV has learnt that a committee made up of Iran, Syria and Hezbollah was conducting an investigation into the crime and that according to preliminary reports decisive facts had been established on who carried out [the assassination]".
