the only thing I don’t like is the dock...I just think it is stupid, and not some breakthrough thing. The taskbar is better.
But, other than that, I love Macs now and can’t wait to get a Macbook Pro. I just hope they release an updated version by the time I choose to get one, probably in April or May of this year.
One feature I love, but I don’t know what it is called, I have seen some people do. They are able to be in the internet and then hit some button and move the mouse on their laptop and immediately every window open is a thumbnail, making it easy to switch windows/programs on command.
That is awesome. Anybody know what that feature is called?
With fusion and parallels, there is no reason not to go Mac anymore.
Can someone please help me with some explaination as to why my MacBook Pro keeps getting that awful gray window in 4 languages that floats down any old time it pleases. This random shut down with my first MacBook Pro which I got last June was so bad I traded it in for a new one and I have been in 3 times and 3 times the RAM has been replaced. I have to go in again tomorrow for the same reason. These random shutdowns happen if I read email, type letters, work on photograpny ( which really makes me mad) and even once on start up..up comes the icons and then the thing shuts down. I was impressed with Apple but am wondering if I made a big mistake and should have just stayed with my PC ( which I am using as I scribe this). The first MacBook was found to have a bad logic board...I wish Apple would just fix these problems before coming out with something new like MacBook Air. I am about to give up the Apple altogether.
It's called Exposé.
It will show all windows, or just windows in the app selected or pull aside all windows to access the desktop... It's very cool.
That’s Exposé. And it does more than what you just described:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304786
It makes Windows’ “Show Desktop” look like a pathetic broken toy. Amusingly, both VMWare Fusion and Parallels in “invisible” VM mode will let Windows apps become Exposé compatible.
Finally, let me just mention one reason why the Dock is better than Windows’ Task Bar - the dock resizes to accomodate all running apps. The Task Bar just adds more lines.
“the only thing I dont like is the dock...I just think it is stupid, and not some breakthrough thing. The taskbar is better”
Try something called “Classic Menu”. It creates an “alternate Apple menu” (the old menu is still there) that you can configure with files, folders and apps as you wish.

Apple releases its products with a longer cycle than other OEMs, thus the value will be extremely high on release and go down towards the next release. Thus,
