Limbaugh and Hannity can no longer be trusted.
ChristianPatriot.com ^ | Feb 13, 08 | Rev Bob Celeste

Posted on 02/14/2008 4:44:19 AM PST by SLB

John 15:18-25 Wednesday, February 13th, in the year of our Lord 2008 First let me say that I am not happy that I have been put in a position where I have to interrupt the series on the Gospel of John. But, what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other talking head pundits have done this year is not only beneath contempt and disgust but requires a Scriptural response as well. They have, in my humble opinion, proven who it is that they serve, and it is not the God of truth, but the father of all liars.

There was a time when one could turn the dial to Rush Limbaugh and/or Sean Hannity and expect to hear the truth. There was a time when listening to either got you an honest evaluation of individuals and especially candidates. That has changed, as both have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they can and will lie to prevent a true servant of Christ from occupying the oval office.

While I am disappointed in both of these legends in their own minds, I am especially upset at and disappointed in Rush Limbaugh. I would not have believed that he would sink to the level of vicious lies coming out of his mouth, making Romney (one of the most liberal governors in the history of the most liberal state of Massachusetts) a conservative, while at the same time doing everything in his power to paint Conservative Christian Pastor Mike Huckabee as a liberal. From Sean Hannity and others, I am disappointed, but not all that surprised. But in Rush, it goes past just disappointment. It goes to having to re-evaluate my thinking about his honesty over the years. With Rush it is more than simple disappointment, it borders on disgust. I always expected more of him, and I have been proven, by him, to be wrong in my high estimation of him and his honesty.

If I were talking to Pastor Mike Huckabee this morning, I would remind him of what Jesus warned us about in John 15:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, ‘The servant is not greater than his Lord.’ Since they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they had kept My saying, they would keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no covering for their sin. He that hates Me hates My Father also.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both Me and My Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE. (John 15:18-25 ACP/KJV)

Those who serve satan hate Pastor Huckabee because they hate Christ. Had they never read or even claimed to read the word of God, they would be blameless, but since they claim to be pro-life Christian conservatives who have read the word of God, their sin lies at their door and within their hearts.

But, I would continue and remind Pastor Huckabee of this passage as well:

And He (God) said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.

And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham (age 99) and Sarah (age 89) were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?’

Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son! (Genesis 18:10-14 ACP/KJV)

Then I would ask Pastor Mike; “Reverend Mike, which do you think it would be harder for God to do, make you President or cause an 89 year old woman to not only give birth to a perfectly happy, healthy baby boy, but breast feed him and cause her to live till he was 37 years old?”

To all of you who are getting a bit disappointed and down at the mouth, let me remind you of how God likes to fight political wars.

Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against Me, saying, “Mine own hand hath saved me.” Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, “Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead.”

And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

So he(Gideon) brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

And he(Gideon) divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers. And he said unto them, “Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do. When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, “The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. (Judges 7:1-7 and 16-22 ACP/KJV)

Mike, If I’m right, you still have too many working for you and not enough against you for God to deliver the presidency into your hands. You still have to many Bob Celestes and not enough Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys. For I do still believe that God is going to cause this election in November to be between you, a servant of the most High God and whichever of the two servants of satan that the democrats choose to run against you. I believe that this fight between you and McCain is nothing more than a warm up for the big fight of good against pure evil in November.

The Lord be with you my brother and may He give courage and strength to the men around you, let they, you, and I obey the command of the Lord in Job 40:7a. “Gird up thy loins now like a man”

And now, God willing I can get back to the Gospel of John.

And Lord, please let it be with those who attack our brother Mike as they try to make it be to our brother Mike. In the name of the Lord Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.

Huckabee believes in Biblical inerrancy.

This is not his problem.

I have heard Rush talk about Huckabee and the part he doesn’t like is his liberalism not his Christian faith. He doesn’t like McCain either.

I think most people who use the term “bible thumpers” are simpletons.

Actually, make that all people. Unoriginal simpletons, at that.

Welcome to FR!

Huck is good on guns. Other than that, he is Bill Clinton.

Another Arkansas governor with an oversized Bible to show the telvision cameras. The only difference is the concealed .45 ACP...

I became a Republican after our parish priest in Brooklyn, on the Sunday before the election, used the occasion of the homily to give a stump speech for John Kennedy.

I honestly believe that Rush Limbaugh has done as much for Conservatism in the United State as anyone. After Goldwater, Reagan and Buckey, he is my Conservative hero. He has given us a voice and an identity. He speaks the PRACTICAL truth, and like it or not, politics is all about practicality.

Now to Pastor Bob. Coming from me, a New York City SEMI-secularist, this observation will be taken with a grain of salt here, but when stories like this become widely reported, it SCARES THE CRAP out of most of the country. It is why I believe that a (please forgive the phrase) bible thumper will never again be elected to the Presidency.

The reality may be pious governence, but the public perception is religious facism.

My personal reaction to him is: Screw off, Pastor Bob. Peddle your....opinion...to your own flock. Rush doesn’t like your guy so he’s doing the work of Satan? Good job of turning Americans off and instilling a fear of the religious right in the hearts of those who happen not to be Christians. Yes, that’ll win elections.

BTW, What’s with Limbaugh giving free on-air advertising time to the hot water, meat, and mattress guys? It happens at the same time every day.

And any man that would use his Christian faith for political expediency is not to be trusted either.

Same here! Poor Rush and Sean: they were choosing their candidate based on conservative ideals too, and now are apparently sentenced to eternity in the blazing flames of hell by their co-religionists who are Far More Pious. Who knew?

My Bible says that liars, thieves and extortioners will not inherit the kingdom of God (I Cor. 6:10, Rev. 21:8). Huckabee does all these, and gives hearty approval to criminal aliens (Rom 1:32).

Take Rush and Hannity out of the equation and I’d bet you would have several million less conservative voters. Let the colleges have a monopoly of molding minds full of mush into full fledged socialists.

Huckabee - How many criminal sentences did he not reduce? A Christian nanny stater for a presidential nomination. Good thing he doesn’t have a chance to win.

Pastor Bob, I’m glad more people listen to Rush and Hannity per week, than people who will hear your words in your entire life. Makes me smile just thinking about it.

"That is not his problem"..

No, just one of them. He made it his problem when he attacked the Mormons, since each Religion interprets the bible differently.

I saw his title, but is the writer really a Christian? First I read: " as both have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they can and will lie to prevent a true servant of Christ from occupying the oval office."

C'mon, are people really so stupid to follow this line? Sadly, the answer must be yes for his readers. When he also asks: "Is any thing too hard for the LORD?"

I think back to 8 years of that bible thumping huckster from Arkansas, Bill Clinton, and wonder just what the LORD wants and whether or not He cares one way or the other who is in the WH.

For the last 7 years, the three of them have been preparing their audiences, including me for Hillary’s run for the presidency and the fact that she must be defeated. Now that Obama, a real socialist is about to overtake her quest, our trio of famous talk show hosts have turned their attention to McCain, so much in fact that they have divided the only party which has a chance of defeating the democrats. This is much worse than Ross Perot’s division of the party in 1992 because Ross was at least a candidate with ideas who attracted followers. All that’s happening this time around is movement to stay at home, or like Ann Coulter, vote for Hillary. This lack of interest in this election they are fueling is going to have huge results, not only for the presidency, but for all offices from National right down to state, county and city races.

You and your preacher are off base on this one and you are not the one to judge Rush and Sean until you also judge Huckabee’s contradictions and public comments.

What is the most infuriating is the aspect of this author having “God’s” position all wrapped up and anyone who disagrees or sees a different way cannot possibly be “in the will of God”. That is a hammer to beat over the head of other Chritians. That hammer is not from the Holy Spirit.

Short of hitting McCain over the head with a sledge hammer, Rush has sent him every hint possible, to no avail.

What Rush is doing is trying to "tweak" McCain and demonstrate to him that he's not selling himself to conservatives.

He's constantly pointing out how many conservative votes Huckabee is getting. He's taking calls from people who say they're voting for Obama "because he inspires them!" The subliminal message being that Mr. McCain does NOT inspire we conservatives.

And, McCain has done NOTHING to reach out to conservs and prove he's done snubbing his nose at us.

Rush said a long time ago that it's not his job to sell McCain to the voters. THAT is McCain's job and if he wants to win, he better get with it.
