McCain Involvement of Fast Tracking N Vietnam Relations
Shyla

A FReeper made a post on a McCain thread about McCain being involved in fast tracking new relations with N Vietnam, thus leaving POW's left behind. I failed to bookmark the thread and am interested in learning more about this. Looking for links or articles.

I believe John Kerry was also involved in pushing for normalization of relations with North Vietnam. That's no big surprise, but it was later learned that a cousin of his was planning on setting up business there.

When I did a search for info on the cousin, Stuart Forbes, I came across this article written based on a statement to Congress by the former POW/MIA Affairs Chief in June of '98. It's interesting in that about halfway down the statement, it discusses Kerry and McCain being on the Senate Select Committee for POW/MIA Affairs. It also mentions Clinton and the Riady's, Worthen Bank and Stephens Investment, both of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ron Brown, John Huang, the Commerce Dept. and how Huang's first meeting after taking his new position at the Commerce Dept., was oriented toward developing increased commercial relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

It's pretty interesting because it deals with payoffs and deals. The link to the article is:

I’m a middle aged woman & not a vet. LOL

During a Swiftboat rally in DC back in 2004, someone joined the “live” thread as the rally was aired on CSpan. I got the impression they were either a family member of someone who’s listed as MIA or someone who’s been involved in the issue. At the time there was no real reason for this person to say negative things about McCain & his actions toward those involved in the POW/MIA issue, but they did. I got an earful (eyeful).

My personal belief is that there are some things about the committee that McCain & Kerry ran just don’t add up.

There was something about Poland offering to open their Cold War archives in relationship to American POW’s & our government pretty much ignored it or swept the info in it under the rug. I’ve tried to find out more about it via google, but haven’t found anything (too many unrelated links) on it.

I recommend you read An Enormous Crime: The Definitive Account of American POWs Abandoned in Southeast Asia, by former U.S. Rep. Bill Hendon and Elizabeth A. Stewart (St. Martin's Press).

Wasn’t there a movie with a theme like that once? One that referred to a Korean War exPOW running for President?

You’re very welcome, TigersEye.

I’m just really glad to be here on a Freerepublic.com that would have helped us Vietnam Vets save a then Free South Vietnam long ago from an onslaught of massive news distortion from the American Mainstream News Media.

In win in war you must first KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

I can’t imagine anybody who isn’t glad to have you here still helping us fight to keep this republic free. It seems we have our hands full even with all the new communications tech. We can’t abandon the cause of freedom this time. We could climb up on our roofs and load the helicopters but where are they going to fly to? Momentous times, my FRiend. Freedom lives or dies right here in the U.S.A.

Who’s Freedom-loving example is best to follow now,

...than those in the Vietnamese-American Community,

...who have already lost their Freedom once..?

And therefore know full well that should their Freedom once again fall,

...there’s NO WHERE ELSE TO GO..?

NEVER FORGET

The only thing I have seen on the market from Vietnam is fish. They compete with our catfish, and their fish is much cheaper.

I've seen clothing, and I absolutely refuse to buy it.

Am I the last one left who thinks it's not too late to nuke Hanoi?

And the purpose of this post is what? To weaken McCain further and hurt his chances against the Hildebeast or Crackhead even more? Enough already. He’s the nominee. Let’s support him and prevent the destruction of the United States as we know it.

he is the manchurian candidate.

Are you stoned? Ever see this guy?

Get real. You are nitpicking about a Republican while there is a profoundly evil man waiting in the wings on the other side.

Mccain couldnt stand Kerry at that time. Kerrys actions back here in the states were used against Mccain when he was a pow!

It’s amazing what the Internet brings out in so many (not to impugn anyone posting in this thread).

Ironic, when looking for darkness to curse can be more tiresome than lighting candles.

You got that right!
NYT was going to post an editorial (rumor) about McCains ethics. Whatever it was it got him really po’d so he hired Bennett. He said I am not going to let anyone do that to me again.!
