Although I agree somewhat with this, I think it’s prime time for the rise of another form of totalitarian leader to rise to the occasion.

Not saying mind you, I look forward to that, but wars and rumors of wars are always with us, and another European war is a given. Who leads and who follows are yet to be seen, but IMO it’s close.

In the past, couples NEEDED to have children in order to have some confidence that there would be somebody to care for them in their old age. Social Security programs and the Welfare State changed that.

In the current society, for the middle class, children are a net expense. They require care, they require education, and they're likely to leave you in a nursing home when you're old

I do believe that Europe is finished. Maybe islands will survive, the New Europe at least. But the old powers of France, Germany, GB..... Hardly a day goes by without a posting here on FR detailing another step towards dhimmitude in Europe.

We OTOH still have a chance to survive as a traditional Western society. But we need to arrest some of the decline and get started on the right track in other areas. Maybe the object lesson provided by witnessing the end of Europe will provide the right catalyst. Maybe.... but liberals seem to be impervious to facts and history, both recent and ancient.
