California ripped as 'too queer for school'

If you care about your children, then you should homeschool, find a Christian school, participate in a homeschool co-op, pay the tuition, drive an older car, or do whatever is necessary to keep them out of California's public school system. That's the message from a new campaign, assembled under the Rescue Your Child slogan.

And it's all because the California Legislature and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger worked together to establish Senate Bill 777 and Assembly Bill 394 as law, plans that institutionalize the promotion of homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism and other alternative lifestyle choices.

First, [California] law allowed public schools to voluntarily promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. Then, the law required public schools to accept homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual teachers as role models for impressionable children. Now, the law has been changed to effectively require the positive portrayal of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to six million children in California government-controlled schools," said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families and a leader in the movement to withdraw what supporters pray will be up to 600,000 children from public districts in the state.

At a Los Angeles news conference, Thomasson's organization kicked off the statewide drive for exodus. The new website provides information to parents on just what they have to do, and how to do it, in protect their children from the "gay" agenda now standardized throughout the state.

Officials said SB 777 "functionally requires public school instructional materials and school-sponsored activities to positively portray cross-dressing, sex-change operations, homosexual 'marriages,' and all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality, including so-called 'gay history.'"

The second bill, AB 394, "requires public schools to distribute controversial material to teachers, students, and parents which promotes transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality, all under the guise of 'anti-harassment' training," the group said.

I’ve talked to people, Freepers even, who say they spend 2-3 hours per evening deprogramming their kid from the public school indoctrination.

The irony is - that 2-3 hours per day

IS ALL IT REQUIRES TO HOMESCHOOL THE CHILD IN THE FIRST PLACE.

It happens every single day here.

I am continuously insulted because I am very pleased with my children’s schools here in the Bible belt. And I would have NEVER put them in public school when we were in CA.

Making a lot of noise about this is really stupid. California's laws governing home education are among the most liberal in the nation. This move could induce a leftist backlash that could destroy home education in California. We've been growing and are both numerous and active, but I fear it's too early.

One thing for certain: the left doesn't care what we think and is more than willing to cut our throats.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

But,,,I really wonder if they are doing a good job at “deprogramming”?

To do a good job at deprogramming, they would need to read the child’s textbooks, find and watch the films being shown, check the syllabuses, attend the assemblies, and read all the books on their child’s assigned English recommended reading list. The last one, ( books on the English read lists) would be important because other children are doing oral reports in class.

Wow! Anything less than the above is like using a water pistol to put out a forest fire! Anything less is being a neglectful parent!

Why not, make the sacrifices to use a private school that upholds the Constitution and Western Civilization or homeschool?

I am going to paraphrase Neal Boortz here:

Putting your kid in a government school is like leaving your baby in a hot car.

Amen.

Waiting for the apologists who continue to support this massive system of waste, abuse and failure, just because THEIR kid's school is "excellent."

Their participation enables the government to restrict school choice for parent/students whose schools aren't so "excellent."

Absolutely disgusting! It is good news for the Phoenix housing market though. Maybe I can finally sell my house to a fleeing Californian. Its 75 degrees and sunny today. Come on over.

Yeah, the schools get the kids for 6 hours of immersed indoctrination time, in which they are subtly programmed that they should not listen to their parents.

Then the parents try to undo this in a couple of hours.

So we should go the opposite direction and restrict choice to homeschooling and private schools?

PS — How is your choice restricted? Homeschool or private school. The government isn’t stopping you from doing either.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Driving a wedge between parents and the child, destroying the family, and making the child loyal to the state and not loyal to the family, has been the Marxist plan from the beginning.

I am utterly frustrated!

Marxism is our nation’s **most** serious threat! Government schools are the Marxists most powerful weapons. We will lose our freedom in the voting booth! We are hanging by a thread now!

Rush Limbaugh will completely ignore SB777. Al Franken was right on Rush and schools. Rush is a big fat idiot when it comes to the danger to all freedom from Marxist indoctrination in our schools.

Sean and Bill OReilly do cover government school nuttiness, but then fail to identify the cause: Marxism. They fail, also, to call for the only solution: Remove your child, and organize a massive tax revolt that would close these government madrassas DOWN!

Forget about churches! Ministers are NOT going to bite the hands of the many government employees putting money in the collect plates!

I see only one solution:

Conservatives ( Christian and non-Christian) must immediately set up private foundations to support private schools and private vouchers. Yes! They could do this if they wanted! If Harvard can have a $35 Billion dollar endowment, then so could private foundations supporting private schools that upheld the Constitution, free markets, and the Judeo Christian values upon which all freedom rests.

These foundations could support mini-schools, micro-schools, virtual schools, they could give grants to individual teachers who could open tutoring centers, and one room school houses. The brick and mortar model should be abandoned! It is expensive and there are tons of zoning and other regulations associated with it.

When are Conservatives ( Christian and non-Christians) going to finally wake up and start using the same highly effective techniques that the Marxists have been using for decades?

When are Conservatives going to rescue the children of this nation?

First, I’m definitely glad my child is NOT in the California school system. Heck, my son’s public school literature book has a couple of stories from the Bible.

I don’t spend hours deprogramming my child. He is bright enough and has been raised well enough that he can separate much of the BS. That’s not to say we don’t talk about things; we do. But 2-3 hours every day deprogramming? Anybody who has to spend that much time hasn’t laid the proper foundation, IMO.

Straight from the NEA talking points!

Gracedad, you are here on Free Republic. The people here are smart. This is not MSN Groups.

1) Yes, parents are still free to **ransom** their children from the government prison camps ( mis-named “schools”) Call this what it truly **is**: Parents must pay a religious and freedom conscience tax!

2)The government is running a price-fixed monopoly that is giving a product away for FREE! These price-fixing, monopolistic practices mean that my county has NO private schools! Not one! This is NO choice in my county for a private school! The price-fixing practices of government schools nearly guarantee this!

If CEOs of a private industry tried this they would be in prison almost immediately! Only the government could get away with such a large scale, nation-wide, price-fixing, monopolistic scheme, and get away with it!

My sister works in a public school and is presently looking at local religious schools for her grandson after only 2 years in her same school system. He has learned how to curse in Spanish, calls his grandmother a ‘Ho’ and his grandfather a ‘rat bast*rd’ and is being picked on by the Hispanic and Black kids because he is a small for his age white kid. He has a teacher who taught the class a lesson about how raising taxes was a good thing and that everyone should gladly pay up. This kid is in the 2nd grade.

It’s completely disgusting. The insults hurled at people who choose public schools make the stuff that’s said on DU look tame by comparison, only without the foul language. In the past I’ve essentially been called a child abuser numerous times. Now I’m equivalent to a person who kills his child. Just wonderful.

My child wouldn’t be in the California school system, either.

My girls are going to be homeschooled and have the best foundation possible to reject liberal indoctrination -

practical, applicable life lessons from the Bible,
and a FIRM economics education.

With these tools, there is nothing in liberalism that makes any logical sense.
