~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: New London Submarine Base 
Naval Submarine Base New London is the Navy's first Submarine Base and the "Home of the Submarine Force." 
The main base occupies more than 687 acres. It is also home to more than 530 acres of family housing, 17 attack submarines, and the Navy's nuclear research deep submersible NR-1.

Whatevah.....
We've had snow here since November. Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea are just gorgeous on the days we can see them. But a lot of astronomers at the top are SOL for viewing time when it's socked in. They have to book time up to two years in advance.....and miss their window.
