I didn’t like Lantos’ politics (except, to an extent, regarding Israel) at all.

However, he was a human being who endured immense suffering and who lost a lot of his family at the hands of the Nazis. I’m sure that his family is mourning him. I hope that he rests in peace, and that his family can be comforted with the fact of his presence in their lives.

I also hope that the idjits in hid district elect someone a bit less to the extreme left.

He sucked politically, and I would respect a lying pimp more.

A person's death is not a celebratory occasion (well, except for hanoi jane, and a few others when their time comes)but his politics generated nothing but utter and complete contempt, as well as his mannerisms while sitting behind his gavel.

Even if you were opposed to Lantos politically, he was a man you could respect.

IIRC, he hit someone with his car, yelled at them and took off. Sort of a Jack Cassidy/Rick Sanchez thingie. So, let's not go overboard here. I'm willing to let it go since he's dead, but not willing to make a Saint out of him.

I did greatly appreciate when Lantos recently confronted European politicos visiting Washington with the fact that they were more concerned about Quantanomo bay than they ever were about Auschwitz.

I was going back and checking names of posters because there seemed to be a lot names that I hadn’t seen in a while, then I saw you tag line. It’s great, it gave me a chuckle when I haven’t had much to smile about with this election.

During his life he did great evil, with his strong support for abortion and the culture of death.

I hope he repented in his last days and that God used his final suffering to turn him back to Himself. May he rest in peace.

Didn't he ask someone about honorably committing suicide that was a soldier wearing an unearned ribbon?

I have a memory of this man. I believe I'll feel the same way when Clinton, Waxman, Kennedy and Gore meet their maker......... bless their hearts.

Yep. I have another appt. for a gastroscopy next month. It's a pain to have to bother someone to take you to, and pick you up from the hospital, but it is for a good cause. I have a friend whose family has a history of EC. One brother died from it, while the other had to have quite a bit of his stomach removed. I continually tell people who complain about chronic heartburn and don't want to see a doctor, that they are a good candidate for EC. My sister is one of them. Like a lot of people, they don't think that it can happen to them.

You’re absolutely correct...that’s what Lantos will be remembered for.
Admiral Boorda was the better man...may they both RIP.

Here is his congressional district. I can think of a several that would run well in this CD. Arnold for one.

Love abortion only a little less than he loved gun control.

Amazing that after surviving a concentration death camp, he can be of such a murderous mentality.

Wonder how he justified his abortion stance with the horrors the Nazis inflicted on pregnant Jews in the camps....
