Texas will hold its primary on March 4, 2008. People do not register as members of political parties in Texas, so on March 4th, anybody who is registered to vote, can vote for Obama. See http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/primary.shtml. With McCain already the Republican nominee effectively, why not have those who lean Republican all vote for Obama to help destroy Hillary's candidacy?
Texas will send delegates to the Democrat convention. 126 of those will be chosen in the 31 separate primaries on March 4, 2007 divided by state Senate districts. See http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/2/8/17340/43669. Republicans can help Obama get many of these 126.
Another 67 delegates will be based on the results of caucuses. Those who lean Republican and voted for Obama may be able to attend the caucuses. But I am not sure.
As I see it, better to have Obama defeat her rather than risk her becoming President in a battle with McCain.
I do...my clue is that the Clinton machine with already 2 terms to practice, relentlessly and continually promoting mindless liberalism and FURTHER inflicting this agenda of permanent harm on our culture is the clear and present danger.
Obamanation of Islam is bad too of course, but not as bad as these 2 creatures IMHO.
Are you insane? Obama is even worse than Hillary. However despicable Hillary may be to all of us; this is the future of our country here. If we must have a democrat for the next president, I’m hoping and praying it’s Hillary!
Did you go to a democrat caucus yesterday?
No, vote for Hillary. We need her to stay in and for the two of them to stay at each other’s throat.
(Note to Michael Vick: This kind of blood sport is legal, entertaining, and carries no public scorn.)
The clintons WILL win if she is given the nomination.
Do you really believe if they get that far they will let ANYTHING/ANYONE stand in their way of the WH?
Man... what site do you belong to? It’s only on the front page all up the top. Vote anyone but McCain to prove a point and maybe force a brokered convention?
What I believe is that Obama is MORE beatable than Hillary. She is a much more hated figure, who does not have a chance in hell inspiring anyone. She’s the other old face in the election. The ‘been there, done that’, ‘couldn’t get anything done’ candidate. Obama is coming across as the reincarnation of JFK and the idiots listening to him spout vapid rhetoric are enthralled by him.
Sory, got that switched. Hillary is more beatable than Obama.
I think most people are looking at this in too short a time frame. My take (and it’s frequently wrong as I was probably the first of the FR Fred supporters) is that we should vote for Obama. Let’s be sure Hillary is toast - that way, once she loses the nomination we are effectively done with her on the national level. Second, McCain will likely beat Obama — he will be shown to be too radical and even more left wing than Hillary and the good-old-boy blue blood Dems won’t come out and vote for him. That way, if McCain wins (while most of us won’t like it) we can live with that better than Obama and Hillary (sorry Ann, but that is fact!). Obama then is shown to be a loser and hopefully we are done with him, too.
In 2012 McCain will have ticked off enough of the Reps so that even if he gets the nomination (if he lives that long - his tumor seems to be growing to me) - the Dems will have had to reload and hopefully a less socialist candidate will emerge. Should Hillary get the nomination and lose to McCain we surely will get Obama in 2012 or 2016 and that should frighten us all.
It is much easier to defeat Hitlery than Obama
I hope the TX FReepers who see your post realize it
is a disaster to support Obama period.
I'm not pulling the lever for a democrat. [period] I'm doing everything I can to vote against McCain!!!!!!!!!!!
As bad as this sounds, Hillery is much less dangerous than Obama!
In our dislike and distrust for Hillery, we can't open the door to the Presidency of this Country, to someone who does not have this Country's best interests as their number one priority!
Republicans should vote for Ron Paul as a protest vote (or better yet, Romney) , UNLESS they actually support Huckabee. ANYTHING to prevent McCain from getting the delegates.
I personally think Hillary is going to be easier to beat than Obama.
If you want Obama to be president, then go ahead a vote for him.
Both Obama and Hillary are pretty scary.
Honestly, I don’t see McCain or anyone else having the slightest chance of beating Obama. However terrible his policies may be, you have to give the man some credit for knowing how to give an incredible speech. It’s downright Reagan-esqe, and that’s a compliment.
Texas voters crossing over is a legitimate vote. Dems helped install McCain this way. Listen, I know everybody wants to think positively, but McCain is the GOP nominee, and he has ABSOLTUELY NO CHANCE in the general election.
So, helping Obama is a legit vote if you can’t stand Hill/Bill in the WH. They’re both lib pukes but personally the Clintons will assist me to go back on blood pressure medication. lol
Thank you and thank you for not acting like I should be exiled just because I didn’t know what he/she was talking about. ;^)
