I expect that a dem congress would come along with a dem president. That’s the pragmatic reality. They come together.
you’ll be shut out and there will be amnesty with no border and more entitlements.
so you were for clinton’s military escapades? That’s the first time I EVER heard of a conservative who did
Now here we have McCain on the Senate floor forcefully fighting for the policy Clinton employed. Getting in is a different issue. GHWB did that and conservatives rightly didn't like it. But once in there are consequences to tucking tail.
you did. That’s why mccain said at cpac:
On the issue of illegal immigration, a position which provoked the outspoken opposition of many conservatives, I stood my ground aware that my position would imperil my campaign. I respect your opposition for I know that the vast majority of critics to the bill based their opposition in a principled defense of the rule of law. And while I and other Republican supporters of the bill were genuine in our intention to restore control of our borders, we failed, for various and understandable reasons, to convince Americans that we were. I accept that, and have pledged that it would be among my highest priorities to secure our borders first, and only after we achieved widespread consensus that our borders are secure, would we address other aspects of the problem in a way that defends the rule of law and does not encourage another wave of illegal immigration.
...
We have had a few disagreements, and none of us will pretend that we won’t continue to have a few. But even in disagreement, especially in disagreement, I will seek the counsel of my fellow conservatives. If I am convinced my judgment is in error, I will correct it. And if I stand by my position, even after benefit of your counsel, I hope you will not lose sight of the far more numerous occasions when we are in complete accord.
Clinton did a half ass in and out in Somalia
to no benefit.
That area has been a breeding ground for Al Qaida since before 9/11. The WOT has many theaters that we must win.
Here in San Diego is the largest number of Marines and Navy. We have more of a clue what is going on than
those hiding behind their port folios
That clearly leaves McCain out. Leaving Somalia and supporting the KLA.
One maniac on the ticket is enough.
Governor Sunlamp is so weird he would cost votes.
"Single with no children at the age of 50, he is a renter who has never had a home mortgage or property insurance to pay. His work experience is largely limited to government. He drives a Jaguar but has few investments."
"Let's see. He doesn't own a home, doesn't pay property taxes, doesn't understand windstorm insurance, and doesn't know simple facts about the FCAT, so how can Crist expect Floridians to elect him governor?" Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman said in a statement last week. "There's a basic level of knowledge a governor must have, and Crist doesn't pass the test."
Clinton didn’t take us into Somalia.
McCain: That's one of the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission. And absolutely, if someone wants to work, they have to have a document that's tamper-proof. And any employer who employs someone else with any other document like a bogus Social Security card or birth certificate should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Moderator: Dr. Paul.
Paul: I am absolutely opposed to a national ID card. This is a total contradiction of what a free society is all about.
Paul: The purpose of government is to protect the secrecy and the privacy of all individuals, not the secrecy of government. We don't need a national ID card.
Moderator: Mr. Tancredo, do you agree with the need for a national tamper-proof ID card?
Tancredo: We do not need a national -- I do not think we need a national ID card, much for the reasons that Dr. Paul said. We absolutely need a verifiable Social Security card. They are two separate things. I believe that we can accomplish the former without jeopardizing individuals liberties...
Moderator: But you say legally you have to be who you say you are?
Tancredo: Pardon me?
Moderator: You have to be the person on that card.
Tancredo: That is absolutely what I'm saying. It's got to be verifiable, absolutely.
we weren’t in control over that mission and it wasn’t about al qaeda. Clinton also refused to give armor backup to our troops. If he’s not interested in our troops then they shouldn’t be under his control.
he brought us into battle there.
Do to the serious situation Bush 41 just weeks before he was out of office had to start dealing with Somalia.
Clinton did his thing but as usual did not follow through and mde things worse

Clinton Orders 5,300 Troops to Somalia; Vows End in 6 Months
By John M. Broder
Los Angeles Times
WASHINGTON
President Clinton Thursday ordered 5,300 new combat troops and an aircraft carrier to Somalia “to protect our troops and to complete our mission,” and at the same time he announced that he would bring all American combat forces home by March 31.
a national ID card (which is what a social security card is, right tanc?) could help with attrition. But it will take time and we have to accept that.
It should have been implemented already, but until now neither party is really serious about ending the problem.
McCain just might surprise us.
But the point I was making remains. McCain pushed for a quick pullout which is what Clinton has taken flak for from the right ever since. His arguments sound like Moveon.org talking points on Iraq. He talks about "I don't support nation building." But now he's four square behind the mission in Iraq which is nation building. You can't have it both ways on your boy McCain even if he can in his record. Homey ain't buying that.
It's really off topic; but why? What was U.S. national interest in the warlord country of Somalia then?
*But it will take time and we have to accept that.*
Is your city ready to help support the illegals in my city.
There is no time left.
I am sitting 15 miles north of the largest and busiest border crossing in the world.
The tens of thousands of illeglas here and the street battles going on just south of me along with the kidnappings, beheadings, drug cartels, etc. is getting old.
The Mexican gangs here along with their culture overriding
our American culture is also getting old.
I don't buy that either. We have National Instant Check System(NICS) for firearms purchases and it took no time at all to set that up. There isn't even a unified system like SS for NICS to be drawn from. It was cobbled together from FBI, ATF and local police databases.
Another Al Qaida area. The Horn of Africa is just as much
a problem area as the Middle East.
OBL at one time was living in Sudan.
Again, one of the theaters of the WOT
Just like when Pearl Harbor was bombed, we also found ourselves fighting in North Africa.
Looking at situations through a drinking straw brings more problems.
You have to see the big picture
that explains why he called the Bush tax cuts, tax cuts for the rich...and why he said greedy people on Wall Street need to be punished...and why he spoke out against repealing the estate tax...
