as it completely froze in the end.

Oh dear! Let's hope I'm not headed there.

I am watching a replay of Mitt Romney’s speech at CPAC, as I continue mourning the loss of conservative values power in our election process. I hope he continues to be active in public speaking until he can break through the almost complete media blackout that he experienced during the campaign.

The fact that people are treating Obama like a rockstar shows two things:
many Americans disregard the Clintons and
many Americans are swayed by pop culture and have no concept of what the qualifications for the office of president should be.

The Primaries are rigged. That doesn’t mean they are not honest competitions but that they are structured and gamed as much as possible so that the Party Chiefs, not us peons, pick the candidate.

That's what makes Obama's run so interesting. he's doing very well against a very powerful opponent, and up against an entrenched "old establishment" and 'entitlement' mentality.

It makes one wonder if there isn't far more dislike of the Clintons amoung the "old establishment" than we guessed.

The process of party control really became apparent this year. Why any state Republican party should prefer open primaries is just beyond me. Why have a party if your opponents can help choose your candidate.

Yes, he does speak for a lot of us.

I voted for Fred Thompson on Super Tuesday, and it felt wonderful.

I am watching the current chaos ensue on the GOP side, and I can honestly say the party elites did this to themselves.

Even if it hurts try to move it as much as you can make sure you extend your head as far as you can back and front and side to side, the physio explained to me I made the mistake of keeping it immobile because it hurt to move it.

Interesting lesson for the GOP this year. They ended up with a candidate that 2/3rds of their party did not support. He won on the back of “Independent” voters and cross over Dems voting in open primaries

I think it joins up very well to the wimpy Republican party hierarchy we’ve been so dismayed about. Imaging thousands of Trent Lotts and Bill Frists running the party aparatus in every state.

Cream puffs and push overs. Guys in high school that would get stuffed in their lockers. It’s the only explaination I can see.

I think there are those within the Dem establishment who’ve long been disgusted with the Clintons. They’ve just never had the opportunity to get rid of them.

Wonder why President Bush is out and about today?

I will speculate that this date was planned long ago, and back then everybody involved expected that the candidates would be clearly identified for both parties by now. That would mean all the candidates would be taking a few weeks to rest, catch up on the botox, detox the pantsuits, etc.

So, Fox News decided they would rather have President Bush on this "slow" weekend than Joe Biden or Lindsey Graham.

Now, by a quirk of fate and voter meddling in how the media planned this entire election cycle, both nominations are still not official. Best laid plans...

What happens if Obama wins the primaries but Hillary gets the nomination (and I think it’s probably going to happen)? I’ll tell you what— the older Democrats jump ship to McCain (who a lot of them like) and younger Democrats stay home, particularly the young ones. That means McCain won’t necessarily need the support of the conservative base to get elected.

The difference between the Democrats and Republicans is that the Democrats have two choices: a corrupt, slimy, unlikeable socialist and an inspiring but purposefully vague leftist. The Republicans, it’s McCain vs. “You jerks screwed my candidate!” (and, chances are, the MSM and the primary process probably did).

Probably because the networks want to jump on doing specials etc before the end of his term when what he said could possibly have long term influence they were not interested, that is my theory anyway.

It makes them seem fair and balanced.

It may not be a preference. Early blue states and swing states like NH and FL have signficant influence from liberals, who want to be a fly in the ointment to the GOP.

Simply put, it’s sabotage.

I fear that the super delegates are going to put Hiliary over the top and even if the Obama contests this legally I doubt he will get anywhere even if he is morally correct.
