I enjoyed the interview with the President. He looks very well and relaxed. He points out that he has read three books recently analyzing the first president of the US so it makes little sense to be analyzing his presidency now. I really think Wallace could have conducted this interview without using the ugliest quotes about the President that he could.

Me too. Now we need to develop a way to quantify the extent of the dissatisfaction that Reps feel about their own nominee. Conservatives are going to have to pick up the pieces after 2008 and try to put the party back together way in much the same way we did after 1976. Most of America is still to the right on the political spectrum.

Back when I was a kid, we had Bovril here. I only used it to make beef broth.

Bovril you spread a bit thicker and is also nice as a hot drink add about a teaspoon to boiling water per mug.

I agree mathluv, mustard and mayonaise with a little bit more hamburger. I’m not a big burger fan. I like mine though.

I think it is better the second day.

It is pretty telling that this wonderful,
informative political thread maintained by very
astute and intelligent political junkies has
become an extremely riveting cooking thread. LOL

I am growing weary of politics.

I think many are as I suspect an 1/8 - 1/ of this thread has been devoted to food.

Agreed. I excell in “comfort food”. And it’s sorely needed during these troubled times imo.

Now we need to develop a way to quantify the extent of the dissatisfaction that Reps feel about their own nominee.

There is a thread out that says a poll of CPAC said 30% of these well off (they could afford it) would not vote for McCain in November.

Oh yeah.

My puter is in the kitchen, so is the TV. We live in a multitask world. I cook, share my wisdom on this thread, and cuss at the TV.

I love Sundays.

Milky puddings to me are comfort food along with my famous sherry trifle - this is today's effort.

I seek the PERFECT mac and cheese recipe.

For in all the world there is no greater food than macaroni and cheese.

3/4 of my body mass consists of mac and cheese.

Reliable Sources: Subject - Media Favoritism (will talk about David Schuster and will talk about what Romney said: “Hillary and Barak want to surrender to terrorists and the fact that no media has questioned that statement (maybe because its true???)

Panel: Howie; Michelle Cottel and Jim Geraghty(sp) (NRO);

Jim defends Hillary about this; says Schuster should have been suspended, but only for a few days. Cottel mentions the Matthews apology and the “working the pole” comment that Scarborough made about Jeri Thompson (Howie jumps in and says Scarborough was talking about exercise)....Jim says “yeah right”.

Next topic: Michelle Obama in an interview saying she might not support Hillary. Howie is stunned that she said she might not support the queen. Jim talks about how he completely understands what Michelle said given the trashing of Barack at the hands of the Clintons.

Next topic: Rush LImbaugh and his comments on McCain and how the media says that Rush is dead. Rush’s listeners are not mind-numbed robots...relatively unremarkable segment. Jim thinks talk radio will eventually support McCain, because he is much better than either Hillary or Barack.

Next topic: Romney’s speech and his comment about “surrender to the terrorists”. Howie thinks its a terrible comment and how dare Romney make such a statement. Cottle says Romney is out of there and his comments don’t matter. Geraghty agrees with Romney that the dems are soft on terrorism; thinks the “surrender” commment was over the line (I personnally think it is spot on).

Overall a very disappointing segment. I am surprised that Geraghty didn’t bring up the outrageous comments made by Olbermann about republicans and how MSNBC at large participates in hate speech against republicans and that is perfectly acceptable to management over there.

Not worth watching on a replay.

I use my leftover ham in a salad, cube the ham in small pieces, not ground, then add it to a potato (mayonaise) salad, it’s good, or add fresh veggies with a vinegrette dressing.
