TOLEDO, OH -- Mayor Carty Finkbeiner on Friday ordered some 200 members of Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines from Grand Rapids, Michigan, out of Toledo just before the unit was supposed to start a weekend of urban warfare training downtown.
The mayors spokesperson, Brian Schwartz said, the mayor asked them to leave because they frighten people. He did not want them practicing and drilling in a highly visible area."

Ive never heard of the Marines conducting urban warfare exercises in real cities before. Is this a first?
They do it all the time and in all the cases I know of the cities love the experience. Dayton, New Orleans, Charlestown just to name a few.

I highly doubt that they would be using live ammunition.
Well, only around City Hall.

On occasion I have had to go to Toledo. I cannot wait for the next occasion where I will promptly go up to the first restaurant owner I come across and tell them that I will never spend a dime in their town until their idiot mayor is gone.

Another anti-American left-wing Nazi. Take all the Federal money from this pig faced Nazi. Toledo is broke anyway and is living off of the taxpayers who should cut off all funding for this scum.
Boycott Toledo!

Seeing Marines in action makes me feel safe and confident about our country’s future, not frightened. I agree. And WOW... have you seen their awesome commercial on tv??? It makes my heart sing every time I see it!!!!

I hope they make a law that if the cities don’t want the soldiers in THEIR city - They WILL lose federal funds! Doesn't Jim Demint have a petition on his website about this?

Berkeley and Fink are just reinforcimg the image of liberals / democrats hating Marines and the military in general which helps the GOP come November.

Looks like Ohioans have the same mayoral problem as Californians.
the mayor asked them to leave because they frighten people. He did not want them practicing and drilling in a highly visible area.”
That has to be the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard.
Any American worth their weight in salt would be proud to see the Marine Corps training.
Schartz & Mayor Fink have to be a reeeeeeeeeel embarrassment to their constituency!
If anyone has the email for these clowns please post it.

oh God....never mind then. It's hopeless for that city then. Another city down the drain.
May the Marines never go back to that city and let it rot!
