Hillary Rodham Clinton threatened yesterday to pull out of an upcoming debate hosted by MSNBC after one of its correspondents said on air that daughter Chelsea was being "pimped out" by the campaign to win votes.
Correspondent David Shuster made the remark Thursday night as he and others were discussing on air how Chelsea Clinton, 27, is taking an increasingly active role in the campaign.
"Doesn't it seem as if Chelsea is sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?"
Wolfson noted that just last month another MSNBC personality, Chris Matthews, apologized for saying the reason Clinton was elected senator was because the nation felt sorry for her after Bill Clinton had sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky.
"She didn't win there on her merits," Matthews said.

I dissent on that. If Chelsea is out campaigning for her Mom, as a "politician", then she is fair game for criticism in a political sense. If she was just the 'former first child' and some schlock reporter asked her about her Mom's chances then that would be a different thing, but she isn't ... Chelsea is out there campaigning actively as a political operative, therefore she is fair game. Nuff said.
Chelsea represents Hillary in a national Presidential campaign.
If she doesn’t have the stomach for it, she should quit.

Well, it would be a “low class” action suit. Maybe someone from the Obama campaign can set them up with a good lawyer. I’m pretty sure John Edwards is available - and, as a bonus, he could give the pimps’ girls hair care tips.

Sorry, but it looks like I'm completely out of step here.
It's one thing to ask her questions, and to be rough on her for not answering questions, if she's been inserted into the campaign (remember that in the 2 earlier Clinton campaigns they kept Chelsea out of them). I wonder what the people who are laughing here would have said had a reporter said the same thing about the Bush daughters, who WERE campaigning for their dad...
Nope, sorry... That comment was WAY out of line. And it probably ended a career. The Clintons do have a long memory.

You are out of step. The reporter was saying the Clintons were pimps. It wasn’t directed at Chelsea. Meanwhile, Chelsea has been handled with kid gloves by the MSM since she was 13. The guy who said this is a far lefty. One of their own.
