Wisconsin Republicans Could Sway Democratic Presidential Race (should I vote for the Hildabeast?)

MADISON, Wis. -- Republicans could sway who wins the Democratic presidential primary in Wisconsin given that John McCain has all but sewn up the GOP nomination and voters are free to switch parties when casting ballots.

While party operatives and independent observers both say such crossover voting is unlikely to decide the election for one candidate or the other, they admit it does happen.

"It does leave room for mischief," said University of Wisconsin-Madison political science professor Barry Burden about the state's open primary. "The question would be whether Republican voters take advantage of that."

Wisconsin voters do not have to declare a political party in advance of voting. That means Republicans can vote in the Democratic primary and vice versa.

“Republicans, vote for Hillary in the Wisconsin Primary!”

What is Hillary’s worst fear? Think about it. It is that Obama clearly beats her.

Don’t vote for Hillary. McCain will lose in the fall. Get rid of Hillary while you can.

Oh I agree, but I think Obama would be worse for the country and in the general election would obliterate any Republican. 2008 isn’t going to be a good year, and Obama would make it worse. Hillary at least motivates the base.

Here’s your vote, with all due humility:

I agree. This is such a F***ed up mess. JimRob had posted a strategy that he suggested would deny McCain the nomination outright and result in an open Rep Convention. See the link below:

I’m with you though - Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, but this lying, stealing, cheating wench for POTUS!!!!

I’d definitely vote for Obama and rid the stage of the Clintons NOW. Lord knows how much dirt and pull they have on the super delegates. If she were the nominee I doubt we’d win fair and square as they have a way to insure not all votes are counted. Our only chance to be rid of them is now.

What do you think? Would the Jim Robinson plan work? I see Huckabee has won Kansasa. The only problem is they might just make McCain the nominee anyway.

My judgment hasn’t been so good this year in the primaries- but I’d rather we go against hillary. I think we CAN beat her. Obama and McCain BOTH appeal to independents- in that race- I expect most of them would go to Obama. If I were casting a strategic vote- I’d go with Mrs. Bill Clinton.

I detest Hillary- but Obama scares me. Really.

“I’d definitely vote for Obama and rid the stage of the Clintons NOW.”

In number we could crossover and destroy her NOW. Look how they crossovered and gave us McCain. Lets tit for tat!

Obama has said he does not want to be the black candidate...he wants to be the inclusive candidate-Dems, independents and disheartened Repubs.<

I think he's sincere. I think he is completely misguided, and very dangerous because of his belief in socialist income redistribution, but sincere. And I just don't see the need to bring race into this--I can despise his policy ideas and hope for his defeat without being a bigot.

I don’t recall. Didn’t Wisconsin deliver electoral votes to Kerry in 2004? Giving the same votes to the Democrat in 2008 doesn’t sound like doesn’t sound like a sway to me.

II would dearly love for the Rep Convention to have to be opened up but I don’t think the math is there to actually have this happen.

That said, I’m not willing to depend on McCain to beat Hillary in the General - IMO He’ll be slaughtered be either one of the Dems. I prefer Obama over Hillary by an infinite measure so, in order to avoid Presidente Hillary, she has to be stopped now! What a mess.

So many negative strategies to think about, i.e, Who/what is the least evil outcome.

Quite true, however, I believe the GOP will lose the presidency in November. I would rather see Obama than Hillary.

We should not be afraid of Obama at this point. Hillary’s fear of Obama is enough for all of us. We have until November to deal with Obama. But if Hillary gets to the National, it is all over, FOLKS!

At this point, I think your vote for H would upset liberals more than a vote for Obama. So--go forth and make mischief!

After all, that's how we got stuck with McKook.

If this is the case, I will vote for Obama. Let’s get rid of Hillary once and for all. I prefer Obama also. He is young- you never know. He does not want a comprehensive health insurance plan like Hillary. He wants to provided insurance to the uninsured. Another poster told me this.

I think it’s a dangerous game to try and support another party’s candidate in the hope you pick the one that’s easier to beat.

First off, a lot can happen between now and November. A candidate that seems hard to beat can screw up something we didn’t expect. Conversely, the media can do a lot to rehabilitate any Dem in the general election.

Furthermore, I think this is an especially dangerous game to be playing when one of the candidates is a Clinton. In my mind, the best thing we can do for the country is anything that keeps her family out of power.

I say vote for Obama.

All week they have been telling us that Obama is in the lead in delegate count but now suddenly today, Hilliary is in the lead.
