MADISON, Wis. -- Republicans could sway who wins the Democratic presidential primary in Wisconsin given that John McCain has all but sewn up the GOP nomination and voters are free to switch parties when casting ballots.
While party operatives and independent observers both say such crossover voting is unlikely to decide the election for one candidate or the other, they admit it does happen.
"It does leave room for mischief," said University of Wisconsin-Madison political science professor Barry Burden about the state's open primary. "The question would be whether Republican voters take advantage of that."
Wisconsin voters do not have to declare a political party in advance of voting. That means Republicans can vote in the Democratic primary and vice versa.

Maybe follow JimRob's suggestion and vote for Huck as a way of denying McCain?
I am with you all the way. I am sorry if this sounds crazy, but I want McCain to lose. No, I am not turning Democrat. I think McCain will be able to push the leftist agenda which he believes in by colluding with Dems and strong arming Repubs. However, I want Hillary out of the picture!
You know this is true. I am new to Wisconsin. I just moved here from Georgia in August. We have three feet of snow on the ground in Janesville and it’s snowing again-quite a shock these Wisconsin winters.
I feel exactly the same way about her and her husband. If she is POTUS I will either throw my TV out or keep the remote within arms length to switch channels when she’s allowed to invade my living room by the MSM. An absolutely disgusting pair.
BTW, see my page here on FR. They are not only disgusting, they are dangerous.
Why does Hilliary have more delegates suddenly listed for her over Obama on both Fox and CNN right now? Are they counting super delegates?
Welcome—what brought you to the land of ice snow and mosquitos? :o)
“I live in Wisconsin, and I am registering Dem so I can vote for Obama unless Huckabee still has a chance.”
Ditto! Keep the lying, cheating, stealing wench out of the Primary. Vote for OBAMA!!! Huckabee just a distraction at this point.
Bingo!! We've already cooked our own goose so now it really is a campaign to prevent the absolute worst outcome, President Hillary.
My husband works for General Motors. We were transferred ;the Doraville Georgia plant is shutting down. I am hoping that Janesville will remain open, they don’t have a new product. I like Wisconsin a great deal despite the winter. I am under my husband’s moniker. He is Bronxboy. I keep forgetting to sign out and in. I am Nyconse. Thanks for the welcome!

But that does not get Rid of Hillary in the Primary!
Since the powers -that- be in the GOP shut us out of the primaries, what else can we do?
I was wondering about that also. Anyone know why?

I have absolutely NO GUILT whatsoever in trying to keep the Clintons from going to the National. That is all there is left to do!
I wish I hadn’t mailed my ballot the day Romney dropped out. I would have switched my vote to Hillary for two reasons:
1. Obama if he is the Democrat nominee in November, will win.
2. Hillary is at least better in regards to National Security than Obama (not necessarily by much, but its enough of a difference in my mind).
Republicans, vote for Hillary in the Wisconsin Primary!
Jeez, what's with the racist stereotypes?
The ONLY thing I like about Obama is that he doesn't do the "Poor me, I'm a disenfranchised black!" thing all the time.
Save that racist crap for DU, since the Clintons are the ones who defeat people with race--we use facts about Obama's beliefs and inability to lead.
Ann coulter has nailed it as usual. I see you are also a fan.
Obama will win in November if he’s the nominee, vote for Hillary, she’s at least only a 60/40 favorite as opposed to Obama 90/10.
Yes, you should vote for Hillary. Also, since it’s the Democrat primary, you’re allowed to vote more than once. Cast as many votes for her as you can.
Obama has said he does not want to be the black candidate...he wants to be the inclusive candidate-Dems, independents and disheartened Repubs.
