More than 100 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a printer supply manufacturer in the San Fernando Valley on Thursday, taking into custody about 120 employees for being in the country illegally and arresting eight on federal criminal charges, authorities said.

The raid at the offices of Micro Solutions Enterprises began around 3:30 p.m., said Virginia Kice, an ICE spokeswoman, who said the basis for the criminal warrant that led to the raid was under seal.

The eight people were arrested for allegedly providing fraudulent information to get their jobs, Kice said. All of the 120 people taken into custody for illegal immigration status were interviewed for what Kice called “humanitarian issues.” About 40, including the elderly and those with children, were released to await a hearing before an immigration judge, Kice said.

Approximately 80 more remained in the custody of immigration officials for potential deportation.

The American Civil Liberties Union said it is offering free legal representation to anyone taken into custody.

“We're very concerned that people who were detained be given the opportunity to meet with a lawyer who can advise them of their rights,” said ACLU lawyer Ahilan Arulanantham. “Some of them may be eligible for release on bond.”

Arulanantham said ACLU attorneys who rushed to the scene of the raid were not allowed to talk to detainees.

The company owners should have been the first ones arrested and jailed.

"Arulanantham said ACLU attorneys who rushed to the scene of the raid were not allowed to talk to detainees."

That must have been quite a scene.

The good move if they get too cocky, arrest them for obstruction.

Talk about an ambulance chasing enterprise. The illegals aren’t even in the paddy wagon, and these a.h.s want to council them.

B.S. Let them council them in Guadalajara.

Everyone should have the right to legal representation but, at the scene? F you. "Rush" your a$$ home and wait for the courts to open.

It has been about that long. And people blame Reagan. Hell, they were arresting and sending back to Tijuana in his day. It was Jorge Sr. when things fell apart.

I know exactly where that is. Passed it a couple of times when I go to Van Nuys on business from Hollywood.

I’ve said to my neighbor’s kid if he decides between Border patrol or ICE, I told him:ICE...they kick down doors and they’re always on TV.

BP? They’ll throw you bleep in jail if you arrest an illegal.

The company owners should have been the first to go to jail and their business license should be pulled and not returned. Do that a few times and this sort of crap would stop cold.....

Agreed.....although I am not big on PR....but you probably get more reaction hauling off the employers in cuffs and irons for hiring illegals....than hauling off illegals themselves. The anti-American multi-nats wont like it...but tough.

Still, 120 illegals arrested is good....but the employers should be whacked even harder

A Print supply company?
How about coming to Indian town Florida and take fully 2/3rds of the entire city and deport their illegal butts.
Nah they can’t do that, then the Fanjul family would have to hire legals to do their harvesting and pay them a decent wage and treat them like humans.
Stop the welfare train and offer every able body a job.

Just an observation.....

This company remans toner and ink cartridges... they rely on expensive to obtain used carts of dubious quality that require extensive cleaning (or more) to make them usable!! I agree that carts are terribly overpriced and refill my own toner... but what are they thinking... if this company were relocated to Europe they would do so much better as the eurounion has issued a proclamation that they will not observe any patents or copyrights on toner or ink carts... They could manufacture new not refilled carts at a lower cost than these poor quality remans ,,, including the toner carts with the anti-piracy anti-reuse embedded IC’s ...
